Toned mine down to monochrome, but I like my EVGA better than my MSI because it has a Cylon mode.

That sorta reminds me of the glow of an old time radio. Minus the cylon mode.

I did manage to score an Asus 3080 on Friday using the discord bot. They haven’t shipped it yet though. I sure hope it doesn’t take too long and I hope they ship from the continental USA because I chose the ground shipping.

Are any bots showing 3070 stock or is it all 3080s?

What’s the link to it? Might as well join even though I’m unlikely to be at my PC when stock is available.

Big Navi orders go live in less than 48H

When do the reviews drop?

That’s what I was thinking too. I’m very curious to see how AMD does without a DLSS equivalent, specifically with ray-tracing on.

Should be Wednesday.

How does that work? I’d like to do that too as I’ve had no luck with anything. I don’t even know what discord thingie to go to.

Why is Amazon allowing this crap?

You think that is bad, you should’ve seen the price of Lysol in the spring.

I’ve reported some listing in the past and Amazon’s response is always the same, third party, not our problem so sorry about that. They don’t even make it easy to report within their site so I just sent them to my AG.

Install the Discord app. Then, click this link - https://discord.gg/QsXyfgqE

Go to the alert-signup channel and expand the blocked messages and then click on the Emoji to sign up for different alerts. Then configure your alerts in the Discord app so you’ll notice them when they go off.

It’s not ideal. The in-stock bot is run by one guy on his PC and it only checks every 10 minutes. Which means by the time the notification goes off it’s usually too late. It also goes down every time he reboots his PC or … reinstalls windows? What?

It’s a little better than nothing.

(Discord works great for chatting and even voice chat in a browser window, but I’m not sure how well the notifications would work without the app.)

It’s how I got both my GPU and my CPU. If I had been relying on Nowinstock I wouldn’t have even known there was stock. Might work better in smaller markets.

I was constantly checking the Newegg app while waiting in line at my local Microcenter for the AMD 5000 series CPUs. I couldn’t even get their pages to load until they said ā€œsold out.ā€

Was going to be happy with a 3070 or maybe a 6800 for 2K gaming but my work gifted me an Oculus Quest 2, I’m now intrigued by VR so now I might need higher performance. Problem is my power supply is 650 watts and the higher-spec cards recommend 750 watts. Which is more likely: VR with Quest 2 will run acceptably on 3070 (not that interested in competitive, fast-action games) or 3080 or 6800 XT will run on 650 watt power supply (other components are Ryzen 7 3700, 32 GB, an NVME SSD and one spinning disk)?

650W would be probably be fine for either card, as long as it’s not a cheapo PSU. The 6800XT is supposed to be 300W ish and the 3080 is 320 ish. You’d be cutting it fine for later upgrades arguably.

But the 3070 would also be fine for VR I think. It’s a very good card, better than anything VR users had until this gen really.

Thanks!

I too was gifted a quest 2 for professional reasons this week, and was just pondering these same questions. I want to pass the quest 2 on to my daughter and her laptop is going to be very lacking the horsepower to run anything VR. I’ll be curious what config you finally go with, so please do post results.

You’re in England? I noticed the pool is smaller there.
