I’m starting to see full systems with 3080s and 3070s in stock fairly regularly. I’m hoping this is a good sign.

Had a 3080 in my cart with Best Buy. But I couldn’t check out because BB won’t actually ship the card, it has to be available at a local store, which of course it isn’t. What a tease.

I had a card in my best buy cart and realized I was logged in as my wife when her email address got sent the confirmation code.

What a lovely gift!

I know this is the GPU thread but any recommendations for some jaw dropping graphics games to try on the new card? I’m new to 4K and all the bells and whistles.

Control gets mentioned a lot. Haven’t tried it myself.

Yeah, Control for sure. Very nice looking, awesome game, and DLSS2 is magical.

Noted. Picked up, the steam trailer for it looks very cool.

Try that because I didn’t like the free or game pass options. I’m just playing new non-RTX games and waiting for Cyberpunk.

Not a game, but Nvidia has a bunch of cool RTX demos on their website.

Hey, I didn’t know that actually. Good tip. I’ve lined up a few titles that are new or new to me for Christmas vacation gaming. Too many to go through but many highlight graphics and/or VR, so I’ll put both to the test.

For sure just having 4K display is quite breathtaking. But I want to see what this baby can do.

Everything looks better and runs buttery smooth if your monitor can support the high rates. If you have a Gsych capable monitor even better just turn off Vsynch, crank it to 11 and enjoy!

I do. I went all out, 144Hz as well. Coming from a gaming laptop this thing is blowing my mind right now. I should have done this a long time ago.

WOOT! Similar to me then. Low to mid 1080p gamer for ever before a month ago.

Rocket League is like gaming crack and it looks glorious on new rig and monitor. It took me almost 2 weeks to get used to playing at 165 hz vs 40-60 before. My timing was that far off. Not sure if thats your bag but if you want to show off silky smooth action that is colorful and looks glorious in HDR its free on Epic and a blast.

For the pretty I Like AC:Vahalla. I feel it’s underrated and makes for some killer screenshots.

Oooh, I forgot to reload that on the new system. I have a ton of downloads queued on Steam right now but I’ll add that in on the Ubi launcher later. Also in queue and waiting on release: Cyberpunk 2077.

WD Legion?

Tom was pretty harsh on it and if I recall he loved WD2? That being said, I’m a sucker for the style of play. I was planning on waiting for a deep sale on it before picking it up. Not like I don’t have too much to play through right now.

WD:Legion is fun enough for about 10-20 hours, I think, but it’s shallow gameplay starts to wear around then, depending on your sensitivity to such things. I started to get bored with the mission design around the 12 hour mark, iirc. However, it’s free with the 3080, it’s a really good technical show case for RTX and DLSS and looks great, and it plays well and is fun for awhile there. Worth a download.

The new Ray Tracing update is out of beta for Minecraft. It should be available for everyone who owns the Windows 10 version, which is the version on Game Pass.

True, correct, full ray-tracing.

This is still the most impressive ray tracing game out there. There are some pure demos that blow it away but no games that come close.
