Eh, I just added a 1440p monitor, and even my 2070S has zero trouble running the game with most of the important stuff turned up.

It would be an upgrade, but not (IMO) a worthwhile one.
I have a lot of trouble figuring out how to use it to just tell me when any 3070s or 3080s are in stock, vs setting up alerts for specific SKUs, which count against my maximum allowable number of alerts.
I believe it only lets you set up an alert for a specific SKU. If you do it in a browser you can set up to 20 alerts which was plenty for me. Trying it on their iOS app only let me do five before it asked me to subscribe for more capacity.

Right, they want you to pay for more SKUs. I only used it for my CPU which was a single one.

Anyone fiddled with undervolting?
With my 3090, I am able to reduce power consumption by ~40-50W under load, reduce temperature by ~4 degrees celsius, and keep fps so close to stock I canāt notice any difference (havenāt run 3d mark benchmarks yet other than to stress test stability).
This is the guide I followed:

Iāve fiddled with it, although not used it in anger yet (just a couple of timespy runs) so not sure about the stability.
Going from stock to 1860@850 mV gave me a significant (4%) performance uplift on my Palit 3080 (it hits the power limit really quickly - either shitty reference VRM or bad silicon or both). I might be able to push it higher, or push the voltage lower.
This will get more interesting once I get cyberpunk as that will need all the performance I can get, but Iām holding off until itās a bit more stable. Really blown away by some of the RTX clips Iāve seen though.
I assume this works with a 3070 too?
Itās on my todo list but ever since the first day of ownership I havenāt paid any attention to the fan noise, hah. Itās amazing what our brains will tune out.
Ostensibly, yes. I understand you get the most benefit/least hit out of cards which are more temp-limited in performance. I think all you quiet PC people are silly; you should be like me and numb your senses by blowing hair dryers in each ear for an hour before gaming!
lol. In my case, the new machine sits on my desk, so it is pretty close to me. So yeah, I wanted quiet. Iāve done quiet before, but not in a SFF case š¤Ŗ
I like the puzzle of putting together a nice, quiet build (not silent, mind you).

So I noticed a beta BIOS with āre-size BAR supportā for my Z490-V motherboard, which looks like it will enable Intel motherboards to directly address Ampere memory instead of having to work through a smaller windows. Hopefully might gain a few FPS.
Not installing it, though, because Nvidia hasnāt released the drivers with support yet.

Never upgrade your bios unnecessarily. Particularly not to a beta!

Meh, just get xfinity and use their router. Nothing in my man cave louder! I kid but only because I just swapped one out and the new one is silent. Old one drowned out my new pc with a 3080. Of course now I notice the gaming pc so in the market for new wireless headphones.
Can someone explain advantages of under volting in layman terms. Someone got a performance boost? I thought it was to keep temps down?
You lower the amount of electricity that goes into the chip, which helps to lower temperature. But with a lower temperature, you can thus raise the clocks. Therefore, faster performance. The downside is that it puts more stress on the chip and the cooling. Also, stability will be all over the place if you push it too far. And, you risk shortening the life of your chip, but youāll probably replace the chip long before it burns out.
Confirmed RTX 3080 Founderās Edition store pickup at Best Buy for 12/31. Weāll see if it shows up.
Not if you are trying to get a 5900 lol.
Other than Control, whatās a game that will impress me on a 3080? I havenāt bought a new graphics card in 4.5 years and donāt even know whatās fancy these days.
