Yup. I was notified today the price on the card I preordered a month ago has changed. There goes another 95 bucks.

Im feeling better and better about the cheap 3090 (well, relatively cheap haha) I bought in December.

I still don’t have my 3070, was supposed to be ready for pickup yesterday and now it’s in limbo with no updated dates yet. Getting sort of worried since I’m just waiting on my case to show up to start building.

Well if you look 9 posts up… :)

Oh hang on - his reservation time will have expired. No-one bit?

Thanks for the offer Charlatan - that was a nice thing to do.

Very kind offer. Just curious, but what date did you put in for the wait list? I’m in queue for a 3080 that I expect may come available sometime this decade, lol.

Looks like I signed up for everything I could on EVGA’s site on December 17.

Did no one notice the text at the top of the page?

For those who are currently in the EVGA.com Notify Queue system or Step-Up Queue, EVGA will honor the original MSRP pricing through April 16th, 2021 if your purchase position is processed before this date.

I just got my EVGA notice as well. I signed up October 29th for a 3070 XC3 Ultra. It shows a $70 discount on there.

Unfortunately we’re close to maxed out on our credit card this month with Christmas spending, so I don’t think I can match @Charlatan’s generosity. Some other lucky person will get it at the end of 8 hours.

Ebay that sucker! Unless I’m up in 8 hours :/

Even if I could, do I really want that bad karma for $200? Or maybe only $120 – are eBay fees really 10%?! Holy cow and PayPal too. eBay fees calculator says an $84 profit. No thanks, I’ll let someone else be happy.

Maybe I should switch careers to machine learning to try to finagle some GPUs ā€œfor workā€ with tensor cores on company dime.

On Monday this week I gave up trying to get a 3080. I’ve been trying to buy one since release, but miners and scalpers buy any 3080 cards put up for sale at webshops here in Norway almost instantly. Pretty frustrating! Instead I did the not very sensible thing and ordered a 3090 in the brief period I found some available…

Got the card today and have just completed installing it. It’s an ASUS ROG Strix non-OC. For a 3090 bought almost at random and under time pressure, I think I’ve been pretty lucky.

The card has a hardware switch to select between performance and quite mode. Does anyone have experience with the quiet mode?

I guess I will have to buy a suitable monitor next. My 10+ year old Dell U2711 suddenly feels very dated…

Don’t worry, RTX2060 cards are on the way!

Be fascinating to see if that will actually help a lot with the 3000 series availability.

If they price them right then all the crypto buyers might go that route instead.

If EVGA releases new 2060 cards, I’ll get one and then sign up for the step-up program to a 3080. :P

Not shocking or surprising given the current status of the 30XX launch.

One set of rumors, who knows if it’s true, says the real blocker on 3080 and 3090 is the GDDR6X memory. That’s why the 3070 and 3060ti are much easier to find. My guess is it is in short supply but that’s only half the story, Samsung capacity being the other half.

I can’t wait till AMD reintroduces the Radeon 9500. I’m gonna softmod it into a 9700 again.

I think I may still have a 5200 FX laying around, because old video cards—just like clothing—always come back into fashion.
