Yeah, that’s basically what I said.

I signed up for the premium Hotstock app about 4 days ago, and yesterday I got my first notification, of 3060Ti and 3070s available at Best Buy. Of course, when I clicked on them the cards in question were already marked sold out. But hey, it was neat to finally get a notification on the phone from the Hotstock app.

Yeah, you will need premium if you want notifications for a bunch of different SKUs. I used it for my CPU which Asus, EVGA, etc, didn’t rebrand. Basically you just need to keep doing that and eventually you’ll get one.

3060, it’s not that great for the price, but it won’t matter, because you won’t be able to buy it anyway.
Or, best csae scenario, 3060, it’s not that great for the money, but what else are you gonna buy?

It more like: 3060, yeah it mines too. Give us all your money, suckers. (I don’t expect their ‘fix’ to block mining to be of much use)

Watch out if the notifications are not working well for you. I was only getting a rare notification from them until I followed their advice and turned off all my alerts, logged out, cleared the cache, logged back in and reset them. Now I’m getting them left and right.

Alerts, not video cards. (insert frowny face here)

If you want a prebuilt with a Zen3 and 3080, Alienware has them now. Delivery by end of march. Prices aren’t fantastic but it’s all current hardware. Suggest buying additional RAM and the SSD separately. Note the additional 10% off coupon in the Slickdeals comment.

Woah, cool. You can get the 3060 Ti too. Then you don’t need the 1000 W power supply, 550w should be enough. With 16GB RAM, 5600x + 3060Ti, 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD it comes to 1566. That’s not terrible. How are they getting the 3080 for only $104 more? I guess by removing mouse and keyboard and getting a HDD instead of SSD, and less RAM?

With tax and coupon applied,
5600x + 3060Ti, 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD + 16GB RAM, 550W power came to $1529 total. Ordered, for now. It won’t ship for a few days, so I have some time to change my mind and cancel.

Thanks for the link!

Edit: I googled for what motherboard is used, since it’s not mentioned on the site, apparently that desktop uses a custom x570 motherboard. Nice.

Great, hope you enjoy! You used the extra 10% off yes?

For anyone else interested, I do suggest getting the extra RAM and SSD separately as Dell overcharges for them. I’d configure with 8gb and the 2tb HD.

Yeah, if I didn’t already have all my components waiting aside from the @#$% GPU, that’s a great way to go. Nice find, Stusser.

Dude, that’s like so 4 hours ago

Might make sense to buy a few and ebay the 3080s.

I get the impression a lot of the AIB manufacturers and/or their wholesalers are quietly selling off cards in bulk to miners.

Since Dell get chips from NVidia and make their own AIB boards, they are going to be far less affected by the mining demand than most other places you can get 30xx cards from.

Does Dell really make its own boards? Didn’t know that.

I only found out a few days ago, DawidDoesTechStuff bought a Dell to show that:

  1. He could get a 30xx card that way.
  2. Even when you spec double channel RAM, you still get a single DIMM.

And when he opened it up the 30xx was an unbranded card which looked pretty much like a reference board.

#2 there is really not OK.

The new GPU-Z is now showing me a ‘hotspot’ temp. Which is living up to its name :) Anyone know if that’s new or if it’s just because I have a new GPU?

I’m scared to check it out in MSFS or Cyberpunk.
