Some GPUs have that sensor, but it isn’t the main one you look at.

I just learned that the median offering price on eBay for my AMD 5600 XT is $697. This is not a new card, and is targeted to folks – like me – who wanted an affordable, high-performing card at 1920 res/60 Hz

And that my old AMD RX 560 XT is at $148.

Is this artificial scarcity by AMD & Nvidia, difficulty of producing current-gen silicon, or is there a huge hungry community of miners out there hungrily scarfing up every post-2016 card in sight?

Miners are buying them all up , ALL OF THEM.

Weird, looks like my old GTX1080 starts at $500 (and climbs from there).

Miners + a good performance jump making it attractive + competitive price drop from before + covid supply issues + covid increasing demand from more people staying home and playing games + fab production limited with new consoles + ???

So whole lot of good? reasons why you can’t buy a GPU.

Wow, my positively ancient GTX770 would sell for $150. That is insane.

I have a couple of 8800gt’s in a box in the basement, just in case I need a backup card, gotta check the going rate for them. :P

Why do you hang on to old graphics cards? EBay those suckers. Maybe keep one if you have nothing integrated in your CPU for emergencies but otherwise, better in use somewhere than in your closet.

I totally hear you, but I have every graphics card I’ve owned going back to my Matrox Millenium II. There’s just something about looking at them from time-to-time that I like, I suppose.

Ooo, wonder what I could get for the Matrox. [Kidding, I know it wouldn’t be anything.]

I have three gaming computers with declining GPU power levels, plus a spare GPU which means the 5th GPU usually isn’t worth the time to sell it.

Dude, if we paired that with either my Voodoo I (or, even better, my pair of Voodoo IIs) we would be in gaming heaven (circa 1999).

I’m with Equisilus. The only old video cards of mine I don’t have are the ones I’ve given away to friends who needed an old but still serviceable GPU.

Man, I thought I was being all clever selling my 2080 Ti for $1000 just before the 3000-series announcement. Never though the price would have gone UP from there.

Looks like 400-450 now

Hmm. The 3070 I bought for 800 is now going for 1100. Maybe I should resell and use that Matrox Milleinium listed upthread for a while :)

I remember being a diehard Matrox fan and posting on the MURC website. My Matrox Marvell was pretty cool back when it and ATI All in Wonders were still a thing.

No bites on my GTX1080 for $600 on Craigslist. Boo!

I might have to drop it to $500.

Man, I wish I could sell mine for 500 CAD.

That’s what, seventeen, eighteen, dollars?

What are 970s going for nowadays? I’ve still got one of those. And I may have 670, although I may have given that away at some point.

970s? $150 ish I think.
