Yeah this is undoubtedly a lot to expect people to do, given the multiple vendor dependencies and troubles we’re seeing here. Folks may not get to it until they do a new build with BIOS revisions that already have it defaulted on.
That said - having no problems over here so far. Spent a few hours in VR Beat Sabre and Thrill of the Fight. Doubt I’m getting any percent improvement in those :-)

Dunno. The VBios flasher says the GPU doesn’t need to be updated… The Nvidia system info shows Rebar as off though.
I ignored good judgement and turned it on. I will almost certainly forget I have done so by the time I next play a game. Eventually having it on will break something and I will spend hours chasing it down.

Okay then, updated bios, updated GPU bios, updated GPU drivers, imaged the boot drive to another drive just to be safe and converted to GPT so I could disable CSM support and now Re-BAR is enabled. Factorio should perform better now, right?

The ReBar is the name of an old dive bar in town.
In the above linked infodump about Re-Bar, they have a list of games that support Re-Bar right now.

Thanks. Of those I only have Valhalla installed right now and no intention of getting back into it until all the DLCs are out.
I played / am playing 12 of those 17 games, so although it’s not a long list it’s a list of the right stuff as far as I’m concerned :) It seems to hit all the open world publishers too - Ubi, Rockstar, CDPR, whoever did HZD. Plus Battlefields, Hitmen and Metro Exodus. Borderlands was probably pretty open too?
Looks like a good tweak for the kind of stuff I like. If only I could turn it on :)
Aha! User error located :) I had persuaded myself I had an Asus dual Fan 3070, but on checking it is of course the MSI dual fan 3070 :) Running the correct updater gets me rebarred at last.
With a sigh of relief I notice that my 3700x is not on the list, so that I do not feel the compulsion to jump all those hoops in order to obtain a barely noticeable improvement with a nice risk of failure down the line.
Hope it works out well for all you brave pioneers!

Flashing the VBIOS is normally really scary, but many of these cards have dual VBIOS, with a switch between them. So the anxiety is well controlled.

Until Nvidia fixes the post-457.30 VR slowdowns in MS Flight Sim, I’m unable to upgrade to any cool new features.

I have a 3900x and felt similarly. Except a bunch of comments show folks with 3000 series Ryzen’s happily flashing and enabling away. There’s also this article: AMD Brings Smart Access Memory (Resizable Bar) To Ryzen 3000 Desktop CPUs (wccftech.com)
I’ll likely try it when I have time this weekend.
Every time this post is bumped I feel so lucky the HotStocks app worked for me in December. Seriously, it’s worth the few bucks.
In some ways, it’s a thoroughly predictable April 1st joke. On the other hand I laughed several times.
If anyone is near MicroCenter in mayfield heights, OH, I noticed they have an open box 3070.
A couple of caveats: it is an MSI Suprim, so it is about as expensive as you can get outside a scalper (over $800). Also, iirc, the card is MASSIVE. My guess is it was returned because it wouldn’t fit in someone’s case
If I would have caught this before work, I would have swung by to see if there was any line (which there probably was, but who knows?).
Wow, they went through a fair amount of trouble for that!
Yeah, it’s the props that made an obvious joke still funny.
