Oh. You’re one of those.
I moved here in 2000, and no it has not.

Someone with 2 pre-teen daughters? Honestly outside of needing a gpu in during a shortage I doubt I would ever have reason to set foot in a microcenter other than to look around. Anything I could get there I can probably get here in Phoenix from Amazon with free same day shipping.

Heh, I have to figure out what to do with a 2016-era 1070 that is somehow also not worthless. I’ve started having some minor issues but it still, like, drives a monitor and plays (most) games.
The downside of Microcenter is that people do camp overnight for the 100% regular truck days, and even today if I was 5 people further back I would have gotten nothing, or worse, come home with a 6700 XT.
You can probably sell it for a couple hundred bucks, check Craigslist.
IIRC, the 1070 was the “It” card back in the late 2017 Ethereum mining boom.
BTW I read a great opinion piece about cryptocurrency and how effing stupid and wasteful it is:
The last paragraph sums it up nicely:
Cryptocurrency spews out a country’s worth of carbon dioxide and mountains of toxic e-waste, makes basic computing hardware that could be used for productive purposes unavailable, and destroys any sort of commons that someone might want to offer the world if general computation could be done on it. Decentralized cryptocurrencies are a cyberpunk parody of unregulated capitalism. They are a disastrous resource drain on the world, by design. The designers look only for fresh resources to abuse. The only functional purpose of decentralized cryptocurrencies is to further idiosyncratic bitcoin economic ideas that don’t work in the hope of making money from speculation. Every cryptocurrency is a new form of waste—and the only way to stop that is to stop cryptocurrencies.
Heh. It probably seems easy when you’re laying on your cot in your nyc apartment, day after day, fully dressed like Travis Bickle. Just waiting for that precious Hotstock notification :D

Baby, you’re lucky if I’m even wearing a cockring.
It makes my schlong look bigger.
One Ring to rule them all
Has @stusser somehow morphed into @John_Many_Jars ?! Do I maybe like that ?!
We’re actually the same person. Kitsune, too, and a few others. Betcha can’t guess who!

AMD and Nvidia Computex keynotes are tonight. Apparently Intel didn’t have anything to say about DG2 from what I’ve read so far.
I’m just trying to buy anything near MSRP. I can’t believe I’m willing to pay up to 2000$ for a god damn video card. I hate this timeline.

AMD says their FidelityFX Super Resolution will work with Nvidia gpus in the keynote.
If it lives up to their promises it would be roughly equivalent to DLSS2, in that it gives a ~25% performance boost without impeding image quality. If.

Nothing surprising in the Nvidia presentation. Basically announcing the 3080 ti and 3070 ti, and listing games with dlss/rtx support.
