Undervolting helps a lot, you drop power usage and heat generation by a ton and barely impact performance. It’s very simple to do in MSI afterburner.
Wonder how far behind the step up program is, I know I have 1 friend who has been waiting since march to get his processed, going from a 3060 to a 3080.

I got 6:22:10 AM PDT for my queue time. Ugh, so much refreshing. Best Buy should drop sometime today.
Edit: Associate code isn’t mine, it’s from a EVGA forum post. It’s supposed to give 3% off your order, but doesn’t seem to be reflected in the autonotify link that embeds itself once you get the page to load so I don’t think it matters.

Right now everyone is waiting on Best Buy to drop. No one is sure when. It’ll probably be on a 30 minute border, like 10:30 or 11:00 etc

Today’s activity: watching my nzxt order status now that it says “Your order is in our builder queue and will begin soon.” Don’t know if that means today, or next week.
BB still hasn’t done a stock drop today. I’ve seen them as late as 5:30PM. They probably won’t go after that, but there is still one expected today for the 3070Ti release (but should include other 30xx cards). They go quick, obv, and have a weird queueing system, but keep an eye on the site still if you’re interested.
Around and sometimes over 5000 people watching a live stock stream waiting on a Best Buy drop. Of course, there’s also going to be thousands of bot instances too. Ugh.

Yep dropped and gone within a minute.
Less than that. I have a script which automatically starts the queueing process when it sees it. It reloads the page every 5 seconds during these drops. It went straight from Coming Soon to Sold Out.
Argle bargle argument all you want, I think this was legitimately a paper launch. The FE edition cards are only sold through Best Buy in the US. The BB system uses their own queue thing. All the other cards that dropped I at least made it into the queue. This one was gone in seconds.
All these retailers should do these shuffles like Newegg so at least the bots don’t get everything.
They should do shuffles, queues, or auctions. Definitely not: “hey here’s some cards good luck.”
And in the meantime we need laws against bots (scalpers and miners).
