Well the price is about right if you can use the monitor.
I don’t know that I love 1440p at 32". Pixels might be a bit big.

Yep shoulda read the whole thread. Grats, love mine.
don’t need that monitor maybe i’ll just pass on the deal
You can always scalp the card and then the monitor is free! Sadly the reverse is not true.

It might make it to Phoenix early enough that they deliver it today, but I expect tomorrow. Definitely looking forward to it.
Looking for a good 1440p monitor I landed on Dell S3220DGF 32-Inch 2K QHD FreeSync Curved LED Gaming Monitor with HDR but I haven’t unboxed it yet to check. Do you think there is a better alternative for 1440p?
Really depends on your preferences. I personally hate curved monitors and think 32" is too big for 1440p, but you may well love it. I would probably get the Odyssey G7 if I was looking for another 1440p monitor.
Personally, I’m waiting for a 32" non-curved 4k monitor with VRR, HDR 600, and an IPS (or OLED) panel. These actually do exist but they cost $3000. Hopefully some will come in cheaper.
Yeah it looks like that release is right around the corner now and for a expensive but in today’s market semi-reasonable price.
How long before they start tossing in the rest of the computer as a bundle with the purchase of a video card? Is that here yet?
[Edit] I feel bad for all those folks that were meant to do an upgrade this cycle. I was fortunate to have bought a 2060 Super when they were released and it’s done me well. Aiming to get into the xx70 series next go round, but I’m feeling that’s going to be out of reach for me unless something shifts. I was done with paying $800+ for a card back in the 7800GTX days, and I won’t be going back if I have a choice.
So what are people opting to do if they are in that boat? Suck it up and pay or find another hobby, stay satisfied with what you got?
Start tackling their backlog?

To be honest, I could probably do that for three years minimum, if not more. By then one would hope the current madness would blow over. Hell, I just finished playing The Saboteur this last weekend after buying the 360 version on sale at some point and playing it quite a bit, then buying the PC version on Amazon and again on GOG for super cheap because it fixed the broken PC version’s map issue.
Between actually finishing The Witcher 3+DLC, AC Origins and Odyssey, Just Cause 2, 3 and 4, the 3 Metro games, DOOM 2016, Quantum Break, Hellblade, Planetfall, Space Crew, BSG Deadlock, Bannerlord (when it’s finished), Cloudpunk just to name the ones I can think of off the top of my head I could be fine on the PC side for at least that long. Question is will my current hardware hold out (especially the now 5 year-old 1080).
I suspect some have this in mind for the HQs of graphics card manufacturers
What is that from, the film version of Fight Club? I only ever saw it the one time (fun fact, I worked in the same office as the book’s author back in the late 90s till he got all famous and stuff)?
Indeed! The very end, lol. And very cool!

The fact that folks seriously entertain paying $2k+ for a video card makes me realize I may need to just buckle-up and move to a console at some point (well, before the PS6 comes out at a shiny new $1800 price point). Not a criticism of those that can do it, just disheartening.
On the flip side, my backlog is HUGE from a few years of the humble bundle combined with the fact I play WoW for waaaay too long, missing most everything from the decade back then (increasing the backlog further). I guess maybe I shouldn’t be disheartened or worry about a console at all yet… I might play my backlog this way. So… strange.
1440p looks fine on my 31.5“. With 4k you’d have to zoom the desktop 125-150% which still has issues in 2021. Even the Blizzard launcher looks blurry.
Steam as well, last time i tried. I am not convinced 4k is good for desktop use just yet, 1440 seems to be the sweet spot for me at least.
Yeah, the windows DPI scaling can still be weird. I’m real happy with my 32" 1440p monitor.
