Yeah man. That’s essentially the successor to mine. I’m partial to IPS so again, the only negative with mine is it’s a TN.
Outside of the Dell gaming PCs and Alienware PCs, I’ve never heard a bad thing about Dell monitors.

I have a Dell 3007, a 30-inch monitor I bought a decade ago. It supports up to 2560 x 1600, but I typically run it at 1280 x 800 or at most 1920 x 1200, as I sit about 8 feet away and have trouble seeing small icons and fonts. I suppose I could sit closer? But my aging eyes don’t need the extra eye strain.
Would one of these newfangled IPS monitors be any improvement?
Do you use Windows magnification feature? I pretty much run at 125% everywhere anymore for web browsing, etc. For 1440p it’s basically mandatory.
If someone would like this monitor i could sell you mine, btw (including original box). Just PM or post.
Depends a bit on your use. Higher refresh rates are quite beneficial for gaming (especially fast-paced stuff like first person shooters) and can help reduce that “stop action” feeling you make occasionally experience. Of course, that all depend son your GPU’s ability to match up. Variable refresh rate options (G-sync by Nvidia and Freesync by AMD) also provide smoothing benefits. Here’s an example using G-sync, in this case a 40Hz stream on a 60Hz monitor:
You should run at native res, and use Windows display scale options to make fonts and icons bigger.
Setting it to ‘200%’ would make everything scaled as if you were using 1280x800, but it would all be much sharper.

For anyone not currently in the market for a freesync/gsync monitor, I would suggest NOT watching that video. It is one of the best examples I’ve seen of why it is a cool tech, and now I’m sad.
Awe yeah, maybe some driver support for my Voodoo 5 5500. I think its in basement storage somewhere.
They’re still owned by Nvidia, right? (And by “they” I mean the brand that was absorbed into nVidia at the time).
Perhaps nVIDIA is going to try making their own 3dfx branded handheld gaming PC to compete with the Steam deck.
Since that twitter account isn’t verified and apparently uses someone’s deviant art photo from 2015, I wouldn’t put much stock into it.
Also, we’ve seen how long it’s taken Intel to get their new discrete GPUs up, I highly doubt even if Nvidia sold the 3dfx name to someone else that they’d have anything worth while for at least a half decade.
Oh man, we’re going to get a GPU contender now.
It’s not a GPU contender.

Anyone know why it’s fairly easy to find 6700 XTs and 6900 XTs are so readily available?
OK, I guess I know why the 6900 XT is; it’s probably way overpriced for performance, and the demographic of people who are willing to spend $2200 on a GPU is pretty small.
But why are AMD manufacturers able to get components that nVidia manufacturers can’t? And where are the 6800 XTs? Is it strictly a demand thing? People want nVidia or 6800 XTs but are willing to let 6700s and 6900s rot on shelves?
Someone (guessing nVidia) that bought the company back in the day or at least the trademarks associated with it, has decided to bring those trademarks back into the marketplace. That’s all.
A brand worth approximately zero today I would think :)
