I didn’t know there was a way to check your place in the EVGA queue. How do you do that, anyway?
Check your my notifies page on EVGAs website to get your queue time. Then compare to the data here from user reports (the date listed is the latest queue time for a user who told them they got notified they could purchase)

The people who put up the site used to manage one of the main spreadsheets on the EVGA forum that tracked the same info.

I’m on a 3080 Ti waitlist from 6/3/2021. They just sent out some cards from folks who registered at 8:06AM. I registered at 8:53AM. Probably only a year away!
The spreadsheet actually helped to get you an idea of what the pace is because you can see how many people have been selected so far and how many are between you and the end (still self reported though, so not a full accounting of total counts).
Unfortunately it looks like the spreadsheet is out of commission, although there is still someone maintaining the summary spreadsheet which is pretty similar to the page:

One thing that’s an improvement is that is updated to show the movement for the last drop, so you can see if the queue is moving 1 minute per drop or one hour. It’s a big difference.
I was 7:47 am on 6/3/2021, so they are moving! I received my able to buy notification on August 8th for the 3080ti.

It is moving. Honestly, I have a 3080 FE, so I doubt I’ll bite on the 3080 Ti if it comes up.
…unless I resell the FE for some crazy price. But then I’ll have become the very thing I swore to destroy.
Sell it and get the Ti, for the superior EVGA build and warranty. ;)

AMD GPUs still aren’t competitive in MSRP/performance, not that MSRP meant much in the past year or so.

Dumb Q - how do I get on a waitlist? I remember joining one, but that was late 2020 and I can’t even remember the card I signed up for :(

You just sign up to be notified when an EVGA card comes in stock. Not much point doing it now, though.
So like almost no cards to be found to just about zero cards to be found.
The card I signed up for was the 3060 XC and it’s sending notifications out for people who signed up this April. It’s moving quickly and is worth getting in the queue for.
Anyone look at the state of GPU availability and its effect on how game developers decide on the cards they’ll support for recommended or minimum specs. I figure that, as the GPU scarcity continues, devs will have to work with increasingly older tech so that players can actually play their game. How long before that becomes something that’s obvious in the spec lists?
Devs are going to be targeting PS5/XSX specs for the forseeable future regardless.

Is that roughly a RTX2080?
Not even sure about how “targeted” that is right now. Other than the exclusives, most third parties are building PS4/One versions of games and as good as stuff like Cold War looks, it’s not exactly pushing the PS5/Series X atm.

Yep, definitely one of the big benefits of consolitis was the devs spending a lot more time on optimization rather than chasing the latest/greatest bandwagon. Current exceptional shitshow notwithstanding.
Hope you all enjoyed the lower prices these last few months.
