Hopefully XeSS is good and with that help, AMD cards will offer good competition and keep Nvidia at competitive prices.

1000 Watts? That’s Cuc…amonga* if I may make an extremely outdated allusion.

*kooky, crazy, bananas, etc. The allusion is to Mel Blanc’s ā€œover the PAā€ announcements of train departures and destinations from the old Jack Benny shows (both on radio and TV).

I would think a 3090 is approximately a 4k60 card, so I’m not sure how much value there is in going further. 4k120? I mean, I guess so.

I would rather see performance in the same ballpark with some efficiency gains from that 5nm process. Maybe the 4060.

Maybe they’re trying to raise the power requirements so much that it’s no longer economically feasible to mine with them. At least until fusion power is a reality…

I wish someone was competing for newer or higher memory cards in the low power SFF market. If you need something for a small media PC you are probably still maxed out at a GTX1650LP/4G, and those don’t have a lot of years left of new release game relevancy. Everything newer is huge and huger power and getting hugerer.

Ya’ll taking this rumor really hard.

At least the gpu prices are finally lowering. I see a rtx 3080s available and for only 1150€ (the msrp is 759€).

Exactly. Actual facts, if they exist, will eventually be reported by a journalism source. The rest (and majority) is noise. Not a link worth clicking.

How does QT3 hivemind feel on monitors?

They require many tiny holes drilled in them.

Intriguing idea. Someone should ask what would happen.

This is the way.

Ultrawide or go home.

21:9? enjoy no gpu being able to push all those pixels :(

Stay with the monitor you have until it dies.

3440x1440 is a lot fewer pixels than 4K (~5 million vs ~8.3 million, so it’s not nearly as hard as pushing a 4K display). I’m lucky enough to have a 3080 but it handles it like a champ.

16x10 is far superior for gaming. Hard to find tho.

So instead of 2560x1440, it’s 2304x1440? I’ve never heard of that. (Or it could be 2560x1600, haven’t heard of that either).

2560x1600 was the one I had before it died.

I’m running 2560x1600 on a 1920x1200 monitor through the new DLDSR downscaling thing.

Pretty nice, obliviates the need for shitty TAA and very nice image quality.
