Listening to an Intel guy for a few minutes on ‘The Full Nerd’ (PC World), these initial chips are designed for Intel Evo light & thin laptops, and intended to be OK for casual gaming, but excel for encoding/content creation. I think they’re the 1st GPU to support AV1 encoding which is ‘the future’.

If anyone has had experience with all the problems and incompatibilities Intel Integrated video has with games, it will take a huge effort for them to fix those for their Arc cards

Yeah, the chart I saw compared these chips to “integrated graphics” performance.

In the South, they used to only use segregated graphics you know.

Well, Intel is definitely in the back of the bus these days. Or is that “buss”?

AMD had or used to have enough games incompatibilities that they always had to scramble to fix compared to team green so it’ll be interesting to see how Intel does

If anyone is near a Microcenter, I was able to get a Gigabyte 3080 ti Vision OC for $1299…

Saw an alienware with a 3070 for $1500 today, availability and thus prices do seem to be coming down a bit.

It kind of feels like if stuff dropped to MSRP you should buy a few just for the hell of it :)

I almost have that urge, lol. I wonder what the 40xx series will be like in terms of pricing and availability.

Local scalpers haven’t gotten the memo yet

Asking price was $1500 CAD today

Memos also have not yet been sent to Microcenter about cards in my price range. $180-$280 is still populated only by 1050Ti, 1650 and RX 6500 XT

Sadly, I have a hunch we’ll never see an xx60 or xx70 series in that price range ever again.

Not with that kind of attitude we won’t!

I’m a little hopeful that Intel can break into this market segment and build market share by competing on price.

I mean, the MSRP for the 3060 is 329 bucks.

Probably never going to see one in that price range.

I mean, the non FE editions are going for like 450 plus anyway.

If prices drop to where they should be, reasonable AIB 3060s should start around $350.

Saw a 1650 for 199 CAD locally and 3070 Ti wad 880

Supply finally catching up on demand.

I bought my 3080 a year ago, but did put myself on the lists with manufacturers for when stock would be available.

A few weeks back I was notified that I could buy an EVGA 3080. I jumped at it because I have a friend who was trying to get one without luck. Unfortunately no good deed goes unpunished :). My buddy couldn’t afford it, and so I now have an unopened EVGA 3080 sitting on my desk.

If anyone here wants it, I will ship it to you (unless you are local in Colorado) for the list price, which was $900. Just shoot me a DM

It’s SLI time!
