Below that. List for the EVGA FTW3 3090 is $1919. Here’s the current listing at the Microcenter that’s about 2 miles from me:

On the EVGA site, they have the $1919 usd list and a $220 “instant rebate”, so if you order direct from the manufacturer you save another $50.

And they’re in stock. (I’m not interested – too pricey for my blood – but I’m thrilled to see that the scarcity in the market at least in the US is definitely gone.)

Woah. Here in Europe the rtx 3080 is still around 200€ more expensive than the official price (and I’m comparing against new official price, which was increased at some point).

That’s wild.

If you buy from the manufacturer direct, you can now get an EVGA FTW3 3080 in the 10gb model for $869 USD. $999 for the 12 gb version.

Wake me up when the 4070 is available.

You should probably prepare for it by putting in a separate electrical circuit next to your computer.

From last April, the RTX 4090 preview:

Hope it comes with a free GPU support bracket. ;)

My 3080ti did… :P

A few places (Overclockers, Tom’s Hardware) made news echoing this 3d center report of gpu prices.

As you can see, at least in Germany, the situation has improved a lot in comparison to half a year ago, but still there is a nice 20% increase over msrp for Nvidia.

Unless the crypto markets entirely crash I don’t see the prices falling past MSRP for awhile, except for the later-released cards that were essentially stealth price hikes, like the 3080 Ti. Maybe 10% more. Unless Intel pulls of a miracle and actually get their GPUs out on time and working great, but based on the current pre-release in Korea, they sound like a mess.

Probably the next generation is going to launch in the fall at first only with 4090 and 4080 – so the 3080s will be going for cheap, but the stuff at the $300 dollar range won’t fall too much because it’ll still be the only cheap cards out there.

AMD cards might fall quite a bit more though.

I do think there’s a chance prices even go back up, if the Covid situation in China continues, though that would probably take a couple months to have an impact.

I wonder how much of the 3000 series really will go for cheap, its not like there is a massive surplus of cards sitting on shelves waiting to be discounted.

There is a pretty massive surplus of cards sitting on shelves at Microcenter at MSRP (and that’s checking around a few separate stores around the country, as well as their national order site). And they do not seem to be moving. At least not at a rapid rate.

The market seems to have decided a grand for a 3080 is not that great a deal after all. Hopefully they wobble downward even before the 4080 turns up. Seems like they should.

GPUs typically aren’t discounted when a new version comes out. They just disappear once they’re sold and not restocked.

I do expect them to return to MSRP though of course.

Agreed; decide if it’s worth spending MSRP when you see one or wait until the next series. While perhaps a high end card may see an occasional $50 or so dip to entice fence-sitters, nobody is willing to miss out on profits and they’ll let the cards sit until they dry up unless there’s a significant cost to doing so.

edit - that said, I would imagine prebuilts will see more in the way of savings as opposed to GPUs.

On sale, not sure if it’s a good price. But hey, they have it.

That’s basically MSRP. If you’re looking for a 3080ti and this model doesn’t have the design flaws of my old Gigabyte 3080, go for it.

3080Ti should be as fast as the 3090 right? But take less power? Seems like a good deal.

I’m not in the market, but I can’t believe it’s still in stock an hour later. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!
