Where's the thread on the Full Spectrum Warrior sequel?

You slackers!!!11111

Ok, I’ll do it:

THQ Inc. (Nasdaq: THQI - News) today announced Full Spectrum Warrior™: Ten Hammers for the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Windows PC. The game builds upon the ground-breaking, genre-blending game play of the original, integrating an all new robust multiplayer system, player-controlled coalition forces, mechanized units and enhanced character abilities and advanced enemy A.I. Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers is scheduled to release this winter.

“The critical acclaim, commercial success and fan base for the Full Spectrum Warrior brand continues to grow, with the game reaching Platinum status on Xbox and the recent launch of the PlayStation 2 game,” said Peter Dille, senior vice president, worldwide marketing, THQ. “Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers is expected to have a simultaneous launch across all platforms, taking the brand to the next level with enhanced gameplay and intense online features.”

“We’re proud of the technological and design innovation that has fueled the success of the Full Spectrum Warrior™ brand,” added Pandemic Studios CEO Andrew Goldman. “Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers™ will build on that innovation with features such as interior environments, sniper units, player-controlled mechanized vehicles, and a robust multiplayer experience, all while maintaining the authenticity of infantry squad command.”

As squad leader, players coordinate the actions of multiple infantry fire teams, leading them through a variety of hostile environments. An intuitive control scheme allows direction of squads in real-time as players outthink, outmaneuver and outgun enemies through more than 12 levels of intense warfare. Players will utilize authentic battlefield tactics as they confront the enemy with a deadly arsenal of weapons, the latest military equipment, and new Player-controlled mechanized units. With an enhanced multiplayer mode, players can go online and battle friends through a variety of new head-to-head and co-op objective-based missions.

Full Spectrum Warrior™: Ten Hammers will make its debut May 18 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, CA., where additional details will be revealed.

Excellent news. I thought the first game was innovative, but became stale after a while (“shoot there, flank, kill enemy” - Repeat ad infinitum). Glad it’s getting a sequel.

Anywhoooooo, to be a little self-serving, I don’t have any good THQ contacts anymore, so can someone help a brother out? :)

Ten Hammers? Ummm… that seems to suit an RPG/fantasy game better than than an modern day tactical shooter/action strategy/ect. I’m sure there’s a very good reason for the name (but feel free to explain), however some first glance I must say it is quite confusing.

I really wanted to like the first game, but the rather iffy/buggy save point system, long load times, amazingly shitty co-op docs, and stale game play after about chapter 6 or so made me lose interest.

May as well call the sequel “FSW: Flanking Soldiers War” or something.

I was thinking more along the lines of “FSW: The Road to Hill 30”.

I should prolly keep my trap shut, but i believe the team is addressing alot of the complaints. When its shown at E3, if you liked the first one, come check it out.
