I haven’t read Blade of the Immortal, but I finally finished the entire 28 volume set of Lone Wolf and Cub, and if there is a more epic, cinematic, emotionally powerful comic book out there, I’d love to read it. The final duel between Ogami, Daigoro and Yagyu is absolutely chilling, with a closing line that would be stunning even in literature. It is really just a beautiful literary epic that I feel better for having taken part of.

Well, don’t get me wrong, Lone Wolf and Cub is really really great, but I find myself drawn more to the main character of Blade of the Immortal, Manji.

dont tell me its the one from the same guy who did Slam Dunk…

in any case i think Blades of the immortal is superb. its on vol.12 now after the slow and a bit boring story development of vol.11, i must say its getting more and more exciting… can’t wait for the big fight coming up !!
