Not to make light of the horrible atrocities visited upon a poor 9-year-old girl, but note the final paragraph:

LaFountain was originally described by police as Samoraj’s live-in boyfriend, but the gender classification at the jail was changed from male to female following a routine strip search

What kind of messed up situation is this, really?
