Why does the NWN2 toolset keep trying to connect to the internet?

And when I tell Comodo firewall not to allow it it crashes on me.

This brings up a point besides NWN2 just being a useless turd. I’ve noticed that quite a few games these days try connecting to the internet when they have absolutely no reason to be doing so? Most of the time they don’t even tell you that they are phoning home.

Has anyone noticed this, and are you as concerned with this trend as I am?

Further investigation has revealed that NWN is trying to connect to 127.0.0.1, so never mind on that point.

Still a bit frustrating.

It’s not all that rare for applications to use 127.0.0.1 sockets for interprocess communication. Any sensible firewall should allow those without question.
