Assange deserves anything that happens to him. Whistleblowing is an ethical act. Working as a facilitator for a totalitarian state’s intelligence apparatus to empower and enable ethno-nationalist movements in states as a hostile act of aggression isnt, nor is doxing activists who are working in totalitarian and authoritarian regimes. Assange deserves no protections. It makes a mockery of what whistleblowing is to include this.

Draxen supports Assange because Draxen supports Farage, Trump and Putins far right, ethno-nationalist, agenda which Assange has been working with. His far right views on immigration etc are plain to see in the Brexit thread. This is about supporting his side, not any concern for whistleblowing.

I actually thought I was rather impartial. Wikileaks started out as a safe place to show corporate and governmental malfeasance, but then morphed into a Russian asset.

If me saying Russia is evil and bad makes me partisan so be it. But I would like to reiterate, Russia is indeed super evil and bad.

Wikileaks stopped being a force for good long ago. They are an empty shell of their past selves.

That’s a fine opinion to have, but it sounds like you and knives are saying that since you dislike his recent actions Assange should be imprisoned for doing something that is completely unrelated to that. He’s being charged for helping Manning unearth US war crimes in Iraq, which in my opinion is the best thing Assange has ever done in his life and was a heroic act. Both Hillary and the GOP wanted Assange’s head for doing this, it was not a partisan issue. That is why I am arguing it is a bad thing for him to be extradited or imprisoned for that act, particularly as it will strongly discourage any press / wikileak type groups from exposing things about the US Gov/Military in future.
