Wireless Keyboard & Mouse for $9.99 w/MIR

Newegg has a good deal on a Logitech Wireless Keyboard & Mouse combo. I think I’m going to pick one up, though I don’t know what I’m going to do with it right now.

I’m never falling for mail-in rebates again. It’s a tax on the lazy!

Agreed.

i was annoyed because i just bought a keyboard from staples but luckily the new egg one is one of those bastardized keyboards where they chop off the home/ins/del 6 key block and make the del key really big. gee, thanks for screwing me out of a copy/cut/paste option for my right hand.

Once in a while I go to slickdeals or any of those other “bargain” sites for rebates. The rebate centers love to return the stuff. I make copies of all my paperwork, waste the two stamps (extra thickness), and they still return it.

It’s so not worth it.

Also I’ve found to my dismay they make me impulse buy stuff (HEY ITS CHEAP) that I would have never bought if I’d done my research - functions I dislike, etc. For example, is that one of the annoying keyboards with the F-LOCK key? So everytime you reboot you have to hit that button?

I just looked at slickdeals. Their helpful forums point out an annoying keyboard layout and a couple of posts say the mouse is not good for gaming:

I’ve always gotten rebates I’ve sent in. One time Sony rejected a rebate for a DVD drive I bought, with a terse postcard, but about a month later they sent me a rebate check. I never did figure out what happened there.

Staples is on my permanent and eternal shit list for stiffing me on a $50 rebate for an HP scanner/printer. They sent a postcard saying I had sent it in late when I knew damn well I hadn’t, but I didn’t save proof.

Now all rebates over $20 get sent via certified mail, not that I do many rebates anymore.
