Prosser chokehold incident didn’t go to the Capitol Police in Madison immediately because Justice Bradley couldn’t even get eyewitnesses to the event to act like a state Supreme Court Justice putting his hands around the neck of a female colleague was all that big a deal.
The Journal-Sentinel used a FOIA request to get the emails of the justices after the incident, and they are…interesting to say the least. Especially the Judge who wants to know what the big deal is, because they’ve got a photo session scheduled and can’t all this wait?
I mean…what?
On June 14, Bradley sent an email to the other justices saying that she wanted a meeting about “workplace security” on the following morning at 8:30 a.m. and had invited Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs to be present, saying the photo session planned for that same time could be delayed until after the meeting or later in the day.
Justice Patience Roggensack, the justice whom anonymous sources have said separated Prosser and Bradley, questioned the proposed change in plans in an emailed response.
“What is the need for the meeting with Chief Tubbs? Have you had problems with security?” she wrote.
Bradley responded with only a one-word answer: “Yes.” Roggensack initially wrote back that with the Capitol Police in the building she had “never felt unsafe.” Then she wrote that one of her staff had already set up the photo session and that it shouldn’t be rescheduled.
“The time and date was set quite a while ago. I suggest we stick to the schedule that had been agreed upon,” Roggensack wrote. “We can do the Chief Tubbs visit at 9:00.”
So the US is teh awesum place to run a business, but any corporate with enough cash can buy laws to fuck their competition over? Jeez, I am glad I am not doing business there.

An overview of the upcoming recall elections.
There are primaries in every race but one (because the real Republican candidate didn’t get enough signatures to get on the ballot). The fake one, VanderLeest, has some baggage. The State Republican Party tried to run fake candidates in every race as a delaying tactic so there would be primaries. It’s kind of funny that only the fake one made it onto the ballot in this case.
VanderLeest’s press release last week was, uh, interesting:
I am an advocate for truth in Brown County. I have sued public officials for curruption and abuse of power, as an attempt to protect the hard working taxpayers, of NE WI. (see federal court case number 07-c-318) I am inocent of every criminal case ever brought against me. Every accusation ever brought fourth, happened because my then wife had a drinking problem, and made false accusations that she later recanted. These cases were intensified at the hand of currupt officials, who viewed me as a political threat, and wanted to silence, suppress, and minimize me, like Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chairman Mike Tate tryed to do today. Crooked public officals like this do not deserve the public trust. They fear my ability to polarize the public and expose true corruption that takes place at the hand of public officials who have different political views then me. People like this have no morals, and only care about winning, at any and all cost. These officials do not care who they hurt in the process, they are simply interested in protecting their place at the public trough. Hurting David VanderLeest and his seven year old son James, are just ways of getting currupt official the means they desire.

As the aforementioned Prime Minister Chretien would have it, a proof is a proof.
Too bad that conceal/carry law wasn’t passed already, Justice Bradley could have properly defended herself.

But from the little bit of information it sounds just classic dirty politics period, both sides pull BS like this with primaries all the time. Like in open primary states dems or repubs trying to get a weaker candidate elected in the primaries by going to the other sides primaries and voting. I disagree with it when either side does it.

If the information from the article is correct, I would be totally against them doing such a thing. Primary crap like this and other things from both sides needs to stop, it does no good for elections or the country.
