The American Dark Age (2016-2020) An archived history of the worst President ever

Animatronic beefy arms every 25 feet for punching invaders.

If only good could triumph because evil is dumb.

You mean like this.

edit: better pic

I created a Twitter bot that uses Markov Chains to create Tweets based on Trump speech transcripts and several books from the Gutenberg project. I’m still tweaking a bit to make it sound more consistently Trump like and less nonsensical, but anywho… here it is.

https://twitter.com/GutenTrump

So far, it’s produced such gems as:

It’s short-lived first incarnation was a little obscene, but that should be mostly fixed now. One of the sources (weighted much lower than the others (at least now)) is a Victorian erotica novel that’s one of the most popular Gutenberg books. It also uses HP Lovecraft and Heart of Darkness, at the moment. I need to find more Trump speech transcripts to feed it.

I went through HoD and Lovecraft and changed most of the names to be members of his cabinet or other prominent politicians.

Does not compute!

Agreed.

Train it on some translations of Putin’s speeches too. :)

That’s a good idea! I need to spend more time looking for speech transcripts. FWIW, I did a Replace all in the Heart of Darkness text to change occurrences of “Kurtz” to be Putin instead. :)

And on Twitter, Trumpbot (@roboDonaldTrump) and Markov Trump (@markov_trump).

Still the best

Yeah, this is not an original idea by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s fun to hack at.

I feel like Kurtz is Trump tho…

Yeah, perhaps. It just seemed to make sense for a quick first pass of the bot. I’ll try to improve upon it moving forward.

Yeah for bot training it doesn’t make sense for Trump to talk about Trump, so Putin makes more sense. But just in terms of story, I feel like Trump isn’t a bad analogue for Kurtz.

The whole hashtag is entertaining. https://twitter.com/hashtag/GOPDnD

Sounds like an F2P MMO.

More like an ARG.
