I guess Corey Booker is poisoned goods because Big Pharma, but geez. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a high-level politician both a) seem authentically human and b) not in a ‘Yay, now I’m free to be an obnoxious asshole’ sort of way.
IMO, rock bottom was actually one of these:
- Threatening to prosecute Hillary Clinton if he won
- Threatening not to accept the results of the election
- Leading chants of ‘lock her up!’ at his terrifyingly Nuremburg-esque rallies
- Saying that we need to target the families of terrorists
- Saying we should bring back torture
The more I think about it the more I keep coming back to what it is about Trump that scares me.
It’s not that he’s a racist, that he’s an asshole, or that he’s a corrupt-as-fuck kleptocrat.
It’s that he’s not a democrat and he’s not a republican. (Capitalization is deliberate.) His existence in the chief office of a republic debases that republic, and his election shames those who voted for him.

I really hope Corey runs for President. I like that he and Chris Christie got together and did good things for Neward. He has always comes across as intelligent and thoughtful, but most of all he does strike me as human.
Kirstjen Nielsen was interviewed on Fox News Sunday by Chris Wallace. She also came across as smart, and articulate, and consciousness. She answered most of Wallace question in a manner that while clearly spinning to put Trump admin in the best light but it wasn’t Kelly Ann Conway absurd, but rather try to show a different side to why the policies were good.
It was easy to see why she had been Gen Kelly chief of staff. One of those organized people that keeps track of details. So it was just heart-breaking when she had a bout of amnesia during the meeting. One of the sadder about the Trump presidency is he is destroying some otherwise good people who end up lying for him.
I just don’t understand why they lie for him, though? He always stabs them in the back. ALWAYS! Why would you put your neck on the line for that guy? He should be all alone in a room by himself by now with no one by his side, including his wife and child. He’s a disgusting ruined human being with no redeemable quality. Why are people who know better even remotely interested in being near him?
Power.
Not to mention his devastating good looks.
The only answer I can come up with is loyalty. You are supposed to protect your boss/company in most organization. I can only guess this is even more important when it involves POTUS. But it is a complete mystery how otherwise, honorably and intelligent people don’t get that this guy will screw your over.
This kind of lying keeps them under Shitgibbon’s radar. He’ll see it and think, ‘they are on my side’ and move on. If they tell the truth they are in the Twitter cross-hairs. Anything goes. And that’s before he actually stabs them. Literally or figuratively.
So here’s the thing though, other than a guy like Miller, who is getting all his assholish ideas put into Executive Orders, where do all these other people gain actual power? This woman doesn’t seem like someone that’s been given any actual power that matters? Bannon had “power” and look where he is now. I don’t get it. They’re selling their souls to an actual devil. If you’re evil to the core like Miller and Trump, sure, you don’t give a shit. Some of these other folks clearly have a tiny bit of intelligence that might save their decaying, shitty selves from complete abandonment some day and increase their Grinch hearts even one size some Christmas.
So many of them get the tax benefit now that most of us will never see. They’ll be laughing all the way to their graves as they give their kids all their money so they can lord over the rest of us for eons to come. They could have that without being shitty people under the shittiest President in history lying to save him from himself when he doesn’t even want to be saved at all!
Eh… the more I think about it, she’s ultimately responsible for tearing fathers away from their families. That’s “power”. Fuck her.
