Looks awesome, can’t wait, more Witcher, please.

It is a pretty awkward subtitle, though. How about “Monarch’s Bane” or “Kingslayers”?

I’ll assume most of the voice-acting is placeholder? Looks a lot better than Dragon Age though.

Yeah, definitely placeholder. That’s not Geralt’s English voice.

Once bitten, twice shy. I’ll be damned if I won’t wait at least 8-12 months to see how many “revisions/versions” there will be. Then I’ll just buy whatever’s best for me. (Director’s, Special, Limited Edition, Whatever) Won’t be fucked again. My ring is still healing.

There isn’t a rolleyes.gif big enough…

I understand you’re having trouble, but this is one of the things I LOVE about the game. Sometimes you just won’t find somebody home when they should be, or you’ll find them where you wouldn’t normally see them. I thought it was absolutely brilliant, especially since during 99% of the game there is something else you can be doing, like a side quest or making potions or banging whores.

As for Witcher 2… fucking awesome. I didn’t realize Witcher sold 1.2 million units, either. Go Poland!

Probably the only game in the world to need less polish.

Good luck. While you are waiting for months for a Special Edition that includes the editor (and is free to download for everybody), we will be playing a (hopefully) awesome game. :)

Groan.

The video looks really good.

Except for the QTE addition! FUUUUUCK! Why? What have we done to you CDProjekt?

I was pretty hyped until I got to the QTEs. C’mon, guys, really? Just give me a cut scene of eviscerating my enemy once I win, if you want to show off your animation. Please?

The Witcher combat basically consisted of mouse-based QTEs already. What’s the big deal?

I think we all wrangled with this internally before complaining. We realized that there’s a difference between that and watching a cut scene where you suddenly need to waggle the mouse.

They probably could get away with it if they make it flow a bit better from the combat system.

If they make the icon that flaming-sword thing to chain combos, honestly, that might work better. Part of it is the mouse itself appearing on the screen. “Look! You’re playing a game!”

That’s exactly it for me.

I’m watching a quick cutscene during a fight. Fine. Let me enjoy it and then get back to the awesome fighting. Don’t toss a mouse icon on the screen and make me react. It’s lame and artificial.

I hate to break it to you guys, but in The Witcher the mouse appears on screen at virtually all times in the form of a cursor.

But it’s a FLAMING SWORD!!!

So the objection is that it’s a mouse icon? If it were another icon, but had precisely the same functionality, that would be OK?

I wish there was a way non-English speaking devs could spend their English voice budgets on good writing & subtitles, rather than hit-or-miss voice work on average writing.

No. Don’t be difficult. The requirement for a quick reaction from the player when prompted during the middle of a cutscene is the issue.
