I solved Semantle #49 in 112 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 24.25. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #51. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 12.18.

100 is still good! I sometimes wonder whether I’m better off not finding a word in the top 1000 too early, as I tend to get tunnel vision.
I like how Semantle makes me think about synonyms. I learn something from it, as I do from crossword puzzles. The other day I had “aim,” “goal,” “goals,” “purpose”, “intention,” and other top 50 words, but I never thought of the synonym for “goal” that was the answer.

Hampered by hard mode here, which apparently not only makes you use letters you already know, but also forces you to use those letters in the right place (if you already know that place). Hence the third guess, which I knew would be wrong, but I couldn’t think of anything better. Still helped a bit I guess!
