Not much in the way of chances thus far. More ball control for England, but Columbia have had enough time to do something too. Mostly it’s just back and forth in the midfield.

Yep, at least when they have control. I see a fourth dropping back every time Columbia get the ball, though.

England’s player of the tournament so far is a Tottenham player, specifically Trippier.
Kane looks to be trying to be a playmaker, rather than getting himself forward as a target. Doesn’t seem like the optimal England strategy to me, but maybe some of those other guys have better finishing power than I’m giving them credit for.

Looks like he is being deliberately played there to drag colombia out of shape as they know he is the main threat.

Well there’s something you don’t see too often, usually they at least wait until the ball is in play to mug the other guy.
That’s either no card or a red card. I don’t know how that gets a yellow.
This ref was lax in the Portgual game, expect bad things from him here.

Things certainly seem to have opened up in this last 15 minutes or so, lots more action in the offensive zones. Of course, a lot of that action has been fouls. Aly said something along the lines of “at this rate, we won’t have 22 on the field at the end.”
Aly is an optimist. This ref is terrible. More likely he will let it go on until an England player is stretchered off. Then give a verbal warning.
