I was hoping they could figure out a way to get all 3 of those damn teams to lose…
I have never heard of a Bundesliga club offering full match replays, i’m not sure if they are allowed to offer it for other territories however. I’m also getting bored of Bayern winning it year after year, but to be fair they have never been this dominant despite being far and away the most succesful club. Bayern do have a financial advantage, but they earned it fair and square and their current title haul is as much down to their opponents ineptitude as it is to Bayern’s strength.
Dortmund would have had a good shot at the title had it not been for the bombing of the team bus and subsequent bust up between the president and the coach. And they were actually running away with the league until they completely collapsed and fired the incompetent coach they had gotten to fill in, just to watch a really lacklustre Bayern squad easily win the title. It certainly doesn’t reflect well on the league that nobody is capable of stepping up even when Bayern are average. Teams like Cologne, Hamburg and Schalke all have money but are woefully mismanaged (Schalke seems to have a decent manager for the first time in ages now).
Still, I think the chances for a proper title race are good for next season, as Bayern’s squad is aging without quality replacements for Ribery and Robben in sight and they also have a new and still unproven manager. Schalke looks stable for a change and has made some good transfers just like Dortmund, while Leverkusen has a very, very promising squad. I talk them up as title challengers every year only to be bitterly disappointed, but they’ve been able to hold on to all their good players and play some exciting football.
If you want Aston Villa type drama though without bothering with titles and international competitions, just support my hometown club 1.FC Köln. Beautiful stadium, great fans and never ending relegations and promotions.
Overall i really like Serie A as well, plenty of teams with a shot at the title after a period of complete Juve dominance.
So, Russia vs Spain. Does Russia have a shot? Maybe if they’re using steroids or other enhancers? Then later they can pee in a cup, then swap out that pee later in the testing facility storage? That’s their M.O from the Sochi Olympics, right?
Iran getting that (extremely) late equalizer in extra time was absolutely devastating to Portugal, otherwise it’s them in this game versus Russia and Spain gets Uruguay.
Wat? I just kneed him in the crotch, why you blow whistle?
Someone’s getting some extra time in the ice bath after the game.
SPAIN GOES UP 1-0!!!
Ronaldo shaking his head in what-if right now.
Sure looks like Own Goal to me! Greatest player of all time!
An own goal two weeks before retirement. It’s the plotline to Lethal Weapon 5.
How many has Own Goal scored by now? Eight? Just shattering the old record now.
This possession advantage is crazy so far, it looks like Spain can just keep the ball all day long now that they are ahead.
Jesus Russia, at least press them and try to get the ball back.
I don’t get it. Why did Spain finally press forward and lose the ball? They should have just kept passing it in midfield.
As a result they almost got scored on by Russia.
They are pressing forward again for some reason. Maybe the Russian strategy of boring Spain into going forward worked. No more patience.
Hahahah. Hand ball penalty against Spain.
Exactly what we all expected, right? Own goal and an inadvertent handball penalty? All going according to plan.
That’s the issue with the possession game Spain plays. One team gets a break and evens the game on you and what then?
