I think we can safely blame Tottenham for this lose by Denmark.
I simply can’t take this sport seriously so long as major games are decided by fucking penalty kicks.
At least the NHL restricts that bullshit to the regular season.
Danish Goalkeeper did about as well as you can hope for. Just some terrible penalty kicks by the players.
That was great. Simon Kjaer doesn’t deserve that, because he hit the best penalty of the lot. I always like penalties where you could tell the Keeper where it’s going and they still couldn’t save it.
Also, if you do a short stuttering run up you deserve everything you get.
Well Denmark should have been down to 10 men after fouling a guy to stop the open goal so I guess its a fair result. Croatia were the worse team tonight though.
Croatia better hit the ice baths because they looked out on their feet after 75 minutes.
My kid is so pissed. He texted me to say, “I’m done supporting teams.”

It’s good to learn these things early in life. Start with crushing disappointment, and any later successes will feel so much better!
I’ve been watching since 1978. In that time England have failed to qualify twice, made one semi-final, won one Golden Boot, been knocked out without losing once, gone out to a handball once and lost on penalties three times, (twice while playing with only ten men).
The World Cup is a cruel mistress. It’s important to learn that early.
England is all he has left. I tried to console him, but he sent me this breakdown of who is better than whom and why he is absolutely sure he’ll be crushed on Tuesday.
I honestly think he gets more upset by watching his teams in the World Cup than he gets by defeats when he is playing the game himself. But now that I think about it, I have to say I felt similarly when I was a kid.
