So I don’t want to sound too ignorant but I’m noticing that both the Morrocan team and fans seem very… Caucasian. Is that merely a socioeconomic reason (flying to Qatar and attending a World Cup game surely isn’t cheap) or is Morroco much more diverse than my impression of it is?
I think they kinda look like their neighbors, no? And I would think it’s only the elites or diehard fútbol fans in Qatar for any nation.
That area was very “European” for a very long time.

Well, ancient Carthage spanned Morroco. North Africa as a whole is pretty diverse I think.
I think it is very much like southern Europe, physiologically/ethnically etc.
Culturally a different area entirely though.
It does rather make you question the markers we use though, like caucasian, white, black etc.

North Africans generally look more mediterranean than african. Being Spanish I can generally tell if someone is Spanish or Moroccan, but there isn´t a big difference and enough variety to have people effectively looking the same on both sides of the strait.
I guess daily familiarity plays a big role: I can’t reliably tell Koreans from Japanese, but probably they can with a way higher chance of guessing right.
As always, now that Portugal is out, hope some country that never won it before gets it.
