The game notifies you when someone shoots you with premium ammo? That’s interesting.

No, it doesn’t notify you, but you can tell when you’re getting pinged for a lot more damage than normal I think. The difference between the upgraded 122 with a normal round and with the premium round is pretty significant…at least, the KT I destroyed noticed it!

Yeah, I got my T20 today and have been rather underwhelmed so far. I kept my Easy 8 though because it’s so much fun to drive, along with my T-34/85.

I don’t think I will even go and unlock the second turret and the gun. IIRC they cost about 20K exp and the IS costs about 40K. I think I would rather just grind out 40K with an average gun on a bad tank than do the same for 20K and then grind out additional 40K with a slightly better gun on the same bad tank.

I don’t know, I am just unhappy with the KV-3. I guess everyone has some tank(s) that simply don’t work for them and the KV-3 doesn’t work for me :)

No, it doesn’t. AFAIK. The yelling most likely was like “You are cheating bastard, no way you could kill me without cheating”.

Pretty much. Though why anyone would accuse someone of cheating when no one really understands how (or if) the ballistics system actually works is beyond me.

You aim, you may hit. You hit, your shot may penetrate. It penetrates, it may hit something vital. The chances of these things happening are roughly indicated by the guns stats, but only roughly. Thats my understanding and im afraid thats as good as it gets. Oh yea the “ears” on the t29 are very much a soft spot. aim for them for epic lulz.

Pretty much. So anyone claiming haX0rs is probably just reacting to the RNG in action. And those ears are ludicrous, ain’t they?

Well, I got accused of hacking for destroying an arty piece beyond 500m with my tank. All I did was shoot, from an elevated position, at the starting point of the projectile tracer I saw in my KV’s turret sight.

bwahaha and they thought they were the only ones who knew how to do that. dont tell me you did it with the 152mm derp gun as well :D my hero \0/

In other news, i unlocked the tracks, turret and 90mm gun to the t20 and its become a pretty fun tank. weak as a puppy when taking hits, but shure can move and bite!

I just spent like 31k free xp on the long 10.5 gun for the KT. I think that’s about it for me unless they softwipe, because I realized I could have finally had an SU-8 or a Hummel to make a little money instead.

Whoops.

But the good news is that the long 10.5 can really kill the crap out of stuff. From really far away.

oh god dont post shit like that. my german line im still down to pz3 :(

25k to go to unlock the tier9 gun on my tier7 t29 though. and i think the ears, though weak, are kinda cool. too bad they dont confer a big visibility or accuracy bonus.

The Hummel is a dog now, really. I sold mine. The trajectory is too flat, the aim time too long, and the damage insufficient for the hassle. It’s only real strong point is its mobility in my book. I do better with my crappy Priest, and if I can unlock the M41 (or even better the M12) I think I’ll forget all about the Hummel. That, and the apparently the GW Panther is no great shakes either. Rather than a Hummel I wish I had the SU-8 I think.

I could have had one…agh. I suppose I still could if I hadn’t bought the MMO Expansion That Must Not Be Named and spend too much time on.

Yep, the SU-8 is still good. I’ve unlocked the SU-14, but haven’t yet bothered getting it.

Not far off the T29 now. I actually quite enjoyed T1 and now M6

Agree on the M4 E8. The fully upgraded gun is a great medium tank killer due to the high ROF I find.

Finally got the 122mm gun on the T44, which forces me to be much more cautious (it reloads so slow can’t mix it up close)

Rebought M2 (tier 2 light tank) because of the fun factor of tier 1/2 battles.

I had the most terrible luck with the teams yesterday. In one high tier match my KV-3 was in the bottom half, killed 4 tanks, the rest of the team killed 1 and we lost. I even had a 1-15 match, probably my first. Then on Mironovka, the enemy team came out of the magic forest in the very begining of the match and killed our entire team, I haven’t seen this in months.

I hate days like that.

I’ve been working on grinding enough free XP to skip the T20 medium on my way to the Pershing. I’ve been enjoying my Easy Eight, but I get into enough higher-tier matches with it already to make me hesitant to upgrade to the T20.

For tank destroyers I’m grinding out the JagdPz IV to get a JagdPanther. I started in on German arty too, but hearing about how bad they are makes me want to sell my Wespe and start over on US arty. Hmm.

The SU-8 is sauce and I highly recommend it.

On the subject of “I can’t get X tank to work for me”, I absolutely cannot do anything useful in my M4A3E8 - I drive a mix of stuff from Leopard to KV3 so I’m used to moderating my play style between coke fiend and lumbering glacier, but I just cannot find the sweet spot for the Easy Eight.

If I go forward I seem to get tracked and killed and if I stay home the 76mm is decent, but won’t knock anything out quickly enough to avoid return fire and then the high profile seems to get me killed.

I have a better record with the Hetzer.

Well mr bismarck, heres how i drove my easy 8:

dont stay behind yet dont drive up front. you can be very usefull driving a little behind some heavy dude. as soon as he engages something, shoot its tracks or, if the tactical situation permits outflank the target to get side or rear shots. You are not tough enough to drive up front or be the main line of defence back at base. Be a wingman and your easy 8 will shine. The gun is accurate and quick.

The t20 isnt half bad once upgraded. I think i will dislike the t23 far more because its as weak in armor as the t20 yet its one tier higher. With the 90mm and some careful and judicial use of its mobility these tanks can pretty much rock.

I have the rammer on the 76 which turns it into a spam cannon, so I have been trying to play just off of a heavy to track enemies but I guess I’m just unlucky.

I also play a VK3001(H) which I dearly love with the 88/L56 and it feels like that’s what the Easy Eight is missing - the 76mm will penetrate well, but in a game based on hit points I’d appreciate the bigger caliber.

Something I’ve tried my past couple of games is loiter toward the back and wait until I can see lots of red dots - look for the gap with no dots and run that gap at top speed to get into the enemy backfield where I can try to splat arty, or get some shots on rear and flanks.

What schurem said. I’ve found it also very useful to learn to shoot on the move, and actually hit stuff. With the Easy 8s spam cannon (I have the rammer too) you can run circles around things just popping rounds into them. Sometimes you might even live. It’s fun nonetheless.

With the T-20, I’m working on the 90 now, but I had a great game with it yesterday. I got distracted by something and was alt-tabbed for a sec, and when I came back the timer had ticked down and the game had started. Almost immediately we were swarmed at the flag by a bunch of lights and mediums, backed up by a KV or two. I started furiously zooming around this way and that, and when the dust had died down I had five kills and half my health left. We won that one handily. I’ve had a few other good matches now that the T-20 has decent tracks (still need the engine I think), though yeah, it ain’t that sturdy. I can’t wait for the 90.

The key with mediums, and this works on the T-34/85 too, is to be mobile, work the flanks, and neither lead nor follow (though if you have to do one or the other, lag behind for sure). I find them great for leading the anti-scout screen initially, absorbing the incoming lights, and leading scouts as a sort of heavy scout sometimes too, on the offense.
