Yeah the stock turret on the Tiger 2 seems to be a big fat target; I’ll definitely research the Henschel turret before the short 105mm gun then.

I agree and have a hard time playing Russian tanks because most of their guns have poor aim time and accuracy when compared with the German guns. I enjoy being a second line sniper and so far most of the German heavy and medium lines have been great for that! Except for the 3001§ which was a nightmare!

The Priest shoots fairly fast, but it barely does any damage at all.
Once you get past it, the M41 and everything else fire really slow just like the German and Russian lines.

I found both the T-44 and T-43 had a tendency to blowup until I installed the Wet Ammo Rack.
Fortunately the T-54 seems to be fine without it, and I’m happy to have my 3rd equipment slot back for something other than the WAR.

I actually find the Pershing a bit sluggish. Depending on your preferred play style that may or may not make a difference.
For me the T-44 is just about a perfect tank, or at least it would be if it weren’t for the ammo rack problem.
I was one shotted, from 100%, more times in my T44 than any other tank in my garage and went for the wet ammo rack option.
I’m at a point where I have a bunch of tanks ready to be unlocked, but no money. My Ram II is a neat little premium tank but it doesn’t make a huge amount of money for me. And my Tier 7/8 tanks tend to shoot more expensive ammo than I have been used to. So the grind is equalizing; before it was all experience, now it’s more credits I need, and the exp comes sort of naturally.
My choices right now, as I can only even barely consider buying one new tank, is the T32 (basically a slightly improved T29 it seems), a KV-13 (so I can jump laterally to the Soviet IS line and still whip back around to the mediums), or a T-43. Almost ready to unlock are the Tiger and the T-20. The M12 upgrade is a bit further down the road (that thing requires like 112k), and the Panther as well. Somewhere in the middle is the TD after the Slugger.
The prospect of another go-round with essentially the T29+ isn’t anything horrible–it’s a solid tank–but moving up a tier and not getting any greater punch sucks. My ISU is sloooowly grinding out to the BL10. The KV-13 seems meh, and the T-43 never really enthuses me (probalby mostly its bland looks).
Maybe I’ll just work on the arty.
KV13 is worth every minute spent grinding it out. A man’s tank.

Skip the Tiger, it’s horribly frustrating up until you have it elited.
I had one in beta; the only reason I’d want one is that I like the King Tiger, mostly for its looks I confess. It’s not a high priority at all, as I don’t want to spend any more time with that short 88 than I already have.

I really liked the T-43 and the T20. They are both fast and maneuverable with good guns and take a decent amount of damage. As previously discussed the T-43 ammo rack does have a tendency to blow up though, so you may want to get the Wet Ammo Rack equipment upgrade for it.
The KV-13 feels undergunned for its tier, but otherwise is pretty decent. It really needs access to the 100mm D10T, but it doesn’t get it. So the best T-34-85 gun at tier 6 is actually better than the best KV-13 gun at tier 7.

Unfortunately you’re stuck with the Tiger’s gun on the Tiger II until you research the tracks, turret and get the second 10.5cm gun. Which is a hell of a lot of battles :)
Its tough, fast and manouverable. Yes the gun is not as badass as you’d want at that tier. Its quite accurate and fires fast though, so not a bad brawling/potshotting gun at all. To do well in this takes skill, luck and brass cohones. I’m lovin’ it.
For your consideration, the T20 has an unusually high “earning coefficient”. Once you have the 90mm gun, and if you like playing medium tanks, the thing will print money for you. But as with any stock tank, it’s pretty terrible when you first get it.
Plus it also leads to the Pershing. Did I mention that I like the Pershing? :)
The T32 is a dog in stock form, just FYI. More so than other stock tanks (almost as bad as the legendary VK3001P).
You couldn’t pay me to drive the Tiger again, ever. Whoever decided to limit this thing to 30kph going forward and an abominable 8kph in reverse needs to be shot … or just made to drive the Tiger till the end of time.
I have no experience with the KV-13, but it seems somewhat tough, even if lacking in firepower. Brawling in WoT is very situational these days, so I really don’t know much more useful the tank would be over say the T-43, which I liked quite a bit (when fully upgraded). The T-43 is a much more maneuverable and better armored T-34/85, basically. It also makes good money.
I had both a T20 and a T-43 in beta, and preferred the former once upgraded to the latter, though both were fine. In any event, pretty much every tank i have right now with the exception of the VK3601(H) is fun. That one, with it’s short 88 and paper side armor, isn’t terrible, it’s just meh.

well, I finally got a first “top gun” with seven kills. And it wasn’t in the KV, Lowe or other uber vehicle. Turns out the lowly M5 Stuart Tier 4 light armed with the 75mm howitzer is a total monster during T2-t4 battles :-)
I didn’t even have to aim, a nearby hit and the splash damage took heaps of them out.
makes up for all the times I get stuck in as the “scout” on a city map with only arty up against IS-3s, Tiger IIs and Lowes

I pretty much hated all the German Tier 6 mediums. 3601H was the only one I hadn’t tried, sad to see it’s not that great either.

If you liked the PzIV, the VK is a more effective version of it. If you didn’t like the PzIV, no reason to play it :)
On my VK3601h I have:
55% win ratio
2.6 kills per battle
73% accuracy
681 average XP per battle
Also have 33 battle heroes from 201 battles :)

Also, what are peoples ingame nicks/server?
Yeah I loved the 3601 in beta, but I also loved the PZ4
So latest WoT update from me …
I unlocked the IS-4 and IS-7. Both have excellent guns but armor is as weak as butter especially on the IS-7. The IS-7 makes up for it though with an excellent top speed and one of the fastest tanks on the battlefield.
I’ve also been playing US arty and now have an M12. Excellent T6 arty with a deadly gun and good reload speed. It is a very fast arty and allows me to reposition as needed for better shots. I am going to go all the way to T8 US arty. Even with all the abuse arty players get I love playing them.
