do we have a list of usernames somewhere? I played a while in the beta and really enjoyed teaming up with folks I knew from Qt3, but apparently my beta account and friendlist was deleted when beta ended. So I’m starting from scratch.
I don’t know that we have a master list, but you could always start a thread just for that. I’m Lokust2501 and have premium so I can start platoons.
I think there’s a Qt3 channel. It may possibly even be Qt3. I’m not 100% on that.

The channel goes up or down. At least when I was last on, it got knocked out every server restart (which is every other day) and had to be recreated by whoever logged back on next. But yeah channel name is Qt3.

So I’m trying to get to a PzK 4 via the PzK3. It seems that the matchmaker hates me or the Pz3. I rarely get very far in a battle with a bunch of heavies. OTOH, I am getting decent XP with my PzK 38H735 (f). I just bought 3 days of premium.
Do I use the limited 38H and convert XP? Or of I play as, essentially, a weak medium in the Pz3?
I’m itching for the PzK 4 and it looks like a long haul either way. I think I recall posts where you could actually exchange cash for XP. Was that just beta, because otherwise I see no way of doing that.
And now that I’m having fun in the Marder 2 I don’t want to have fun because it doesn’t transfer, does it?

the PzIII is a shocking slog. I say shocking as from now on you get stuck against tanks several tiers higher, and against heavies. (Unless there was a T2 heavy somewhere? I think there was only that terrible american medium) Once you get past it to the PzIV, and upgrade it a bit, its back to fun times.

For me it seemed like 60-70% of the time in the Pz III I was one of the weakest with most of the rest being one of the strongest. So I would get hammered for a few rounds maybe getting 1 kill, then I’d have a round where I’d get 4-5 kills. I just got the L/70 on my Pz IV, but prior to that the ratio seemed as bad or worse than the Pz III.
Welcome to the tier 4 blues. Yes, the matchmaker is cruel to tier 4 and the main advancement lines for all three countries run through some seriously flawed tanks at tier 4. The T-28 has something approaching zero armor, the PzIII is undergunned, and the M3 is essentially a sluggish TD with a lighthouse on top. I actually found the PzIII the most fun of the three. At least you could run around and scout and go hunting for arty.
Personally I’ve only used gold to transfer XP to help get tanks out of stock setups. Stock grinds can get pretty bad, and the PzIV is weak until it finally gets the L/70.
The game really begins at Tier 5. The matchmaker is kinder to tier 5, and the PzIV, KV and M4 all eventually become very nice tanks.
Wow, amazing round with my KV-13 on himmelsdorf. I was the only tank that went top, and up there I solo killed not one but two panthers, then dropped around the back and tagged a tiger 2 and a gw panther that others finished off. 16 shots, 16 hits, and a whopping 3818 xp (my first win of the day for the tank).

With the Pz3 know what you can hurt and flank.
Remember you’re silly fast compared to most things and use that to your advantage.
Pz3 is good in that in its tier its strong, out of its tier its fast enough to be a solid scout or even flanker. Its better than something like the Lee where your only option is to fight and you just die in a mismatch.
Edit: Oh, and best hurry on the Pz4 or start on a 38nA now cause when the patch hits that’ll lead to the pz3/4 instead of the pz4.

I really don’t get why they did a complete swap on the German trees. It makes almost no sense at all. Apparently they had no plan going in, or just got tired of everyone driving Pz4s and 3601s or something.
The 3001P is now off of the Pz4, whereas before it was the only thing the Pz4 wasn’t linked to. Now the 38nA leads to the Pz4 instead of the 3/4 and the Hummel is off of the 3/4. The 3001P doesn’t take you to the Panther in any way, whereas before it was the only way to get to it.
The potential to get fucked over by the changes is just staggering. I have a Tiger2 and a 3/4 thats sitting on the XP to get the 3001H, so I avoided it, but if I’d started any earlier I’d be sitting in a 3001P right now and pissed as hell when it suddenly linked to the Tiger I § instead of the Panther I was trying to get to.
Um, I thought in any case where your tank was being moved, they were going to give you the tank that went in that spot (and the research for it) for free?

It looks like everything but that tree. Really. I’m stuck with a Pz4 and a 3601H, so I’m just going to forget about the Panther tree I suppose. Probably take a stab at the Tiger § and the VK line. At least I already have an IS-4 for when that hits.
Not terribly keen on these huge tree revamps. If they were all introduced as completely new trees, that’s one thing.
