I’ve just unlocked my first Tier 6 - a Jagdpanzer IV. Which as suspected is terribly naff stock! Needs suspension before I can mount anything it seems.
Anyway which of the Tier 6 tanks would seem to be the best cash cows? T34-85, Easy 8 and Su 100 were mentioned earlier.
Unfortunately, JagdPz IV is a pretty bad TD even when elite. I’d say it’s probably the worst TD in the game but I haven’t tried the US ones yet.
Fortunately, the TD’s after that are all kinds of awesome with JagdPanther being probably my favorite TD in the game. Or the Ferdi. I love my Ferdi so much, I kept it after unlocking JagdTiger (which I haven’t bought yet) and got like 150K of “free” exp on it and gazillions of credits (including 2.5 million credits I got from it during the Prokhorovka day).
As for the tier 6 cash cows, most of them are very good cash makers (except for the JagdPz IV, which is pretty mediocre due to its weak gun) but from what I’ve tried, I’d say SU-100 is the best (very good gun, IMO the best in tier 6, fast and agile, cheap repairs) and I’d rate VK36 as second. T-34-85 and Easy 8 are very good too.
KV-3 is a tough call - it’s very slow and because of that misses on a lot of opportunities to deal damage (i.e. opportunities to make credits) but once it gets there, it’s a beast - very good damage and very tough, which allows it to stay alive longer, which means more damage and credits. KV-3 is pretty expensive to repair but this is kind of compensated by the fact that it’s pretty hard to kill for its level, not for the tier 8 tanks however. All and all, it makes very decent cash once you upgrade it and get used to it.

Thanks, I had a suspicion the JagdPz Iv might not be as good as the Stug III, but it was the first T6 unlock and I had the cash so couldnt resist :-) Sold the Stug III as well which I might regret!
The others you mentioned are all ones I planned on getting, so that is good.
I like my Jagdpanzer IV, more than the StugIII. the additional hit points are a blessing and the frontal armor also allows for a much better staying power. ok, the 88mm gun isn’t that good, but against light and medium tanks it does it’s job.
Yeah, the JpzIV is terrible even once you max it out. Its small profile and maneuverability are all it has going for. The poor thing is horribly undergunned even against foes of its own tier, and I was constantly thrown into battle against T9’s and T8’s that I couldn’t hurt at all, even firing HE. Bleah.

It also looks incredicool. stug looks good as well, but imo jpzIV is one of the best looking vehicles in the game. not that that matters.
I expect quite a few people play specific tanks because they like their iconic looks. Nothing wrong with liking the look of a tank. From the perspective of a similar tier medium, they are nightmares to fight if they can keep their front toward you.
I agree that the JpzIV looks great, and I admit to playing certain tanks because I like their looks or history myself. Why not? It’s a game–my life isn’t really on the firing line! If it was, I’d happily take a seat in the most unbalanced weapon of all time, no matter what I thought of its looks.
The Jagdpanther is sex on treads, in the looks department. Easily the best looking TD evah, in my book at least. I like the flatiron look of the IV too, though, and the SU-100 is cool as well.

One of the annoying things about the Pz IV is that once you upgrade it, it no longer looks like a Pz IV and gets some R2-D2 turret instead.

I went as far as to hack my game into making the stupid turret go away. irl they experimented with the panther turret on the pz IV chassis but it literally broke its back. anyway, its an easy hack, just copy one file over another in the /res/vehicles directory. if you really lazy i’ll make a more detailed recipe for you.
So how are you guys digging the new tanks? to me they are just targets, as i have the german tree on lowest priority. the E75 seems to do just fine.
Well, the update gave me enough experience (or rather lowered the cost enough) to unlock the Panther, but now I have a dilemma. I have the Tiger and Panther unlocked. I can either wait to grind out a million more credits, more or less, or sell either the DB, which is elite now, or the KV-13, once I elite it with some of the converted experience left from when I unlocked the Panther. I actually like the DB better, but now that it’s the same tier as the Panther, I really don’t see much difference except for the L100 gun on the Panther, which is a fairly costly unlock. OTOH, do I really need another heavy right now, and a mediocre one at that in the Tiger? I’d have to use all my accumulated experience to get the long 88 to make it really worth a damn, and that same experience can with a little grinding get me my BL10 on the ISU-152.
Why would you need to elite the KV-13 before selling it? I guess it depends on what you have left.

I’m kind of annoyed that I 'm in the pz3 and now I’m grinding for the pz3/4. Whose balls do I have to gently cup to avoid that abortion?
Because the last thing left is unlocking the T-43, so I can go down the Soviet medium line. It’s nearly unlocked anyhow, so it’s not a big deal. My dilemma is which one to keep, the DB or the KV-13. They’re both fun mediums, but I think the DB is marginally better.
Ouch. You really needed to get the panther before the patch. Really enjoying the transformation to the P2, just feels much more durable. Watch out for the stock Panther. Without the upgraded tracks you’re right up against the weight limit which can generate some nasty surprises. Like using the upgraded engine from the 3601 means you don’t have the weight for the upgraded radio or camo/binocs.

Most of the new ones are above my weight class, but I must admit to being intrigued by the premium T-25. Would be my second premium tank alongside the Ram II.
I’m also pleased it means I never have to play the horrible Pz38NA again, and it even has 5000 odd left over XP now :-) I can unlock the Pz III/IV later.
I am prioritising russian and US medium line over german, so wont play with the panthers for a long while.
Well, I was at about 63k when the patch came, some 30k+ short of the Panther as then configured. There was no way I was getting that much exp in the time frame I had, as I had not had that tank on a high priority and don’t play that much. Looking at the Panther now, it seems on par at best with my T20 or my DB, really. The only reason I’d be going there would be to get to the Panther II and mostly the E-50. But right now I could buy it and upgrade everything but the nicest gun I think.
Of course, I could also do the same for the Tiger. Or I could just buy the BL10 for my ISU and wtfpwn people, at 3.5 shots per minute on a chassis that can barely carry that monster of a weapon. It weighs more than two times what the BL9 122 weighs. And the Object is a lightyear or more away in experience.
The way they keep dicking around with the tech trees is actually kind of annoying.

I don’t think I’ve even shot at any of em yet, even though I’ve been in plenty of matches with em.
Well I shot one with my BL10 I think, but that doesn’t count.
And the T-25 is pretty awesome. I bit the bullet and got it as my first ever premium tank. Its like a really fast (60 kph) Easy8 that can’t turn very well- in tier 5. And its ugly as sin.
Luckily I was able to skip the pz3 yesterday with all the “free” exp I’ve accumulated on Ferdi. I’ve also upgraded the Pz3/4 a fair bit and must say I really like this tank. I was lucky enough to play most of my fights (not many, 5 maybe) in a tier appropriate matchup and was really impressed. It can make nice holes in everything, including the KV, and it’s awesomely fast too. I think I am going to like grinding out the VK36.
Soon I am going to be in a situation similar to TheWombat’s. Tiger vs Panther or rather E-75/100 vs E-50. Both lines seem to be a lot of fun. E-50’s guns are pure sex. I don’t know which line to choose. The good news though that whichever line I choose, all tanks there are really great. Well, Panther and Tiger stink in stock but I am used to it by now and they get great once upgraded.
I am suffering from altitis bad time. In the begining I was really focused and reached the Ferdi and IS-3 within a month or so after release. Since then though I kind of spread out everywhere and these new german lines make the situation even worse.
