I’m sure this has something to do with the decline in arty numbers there as well.

\o/ !!!

Great, so that makes arty even more powerful since you don’t even have to rely on spotting or scouts. The devs are so clueless.

I’m not sure what was happening in that video except for some arty being knocked out quickly. Is there something I missed?

Oh nonsense. The number 1 target arty will be looking for is arty. Life span will be drastically cut, and moving after every single shot a necessity. Big, slow hard hitters like the GWT and SU-14 will be hardest hit.

Tracers are back on the Rus servers.

If arty can get shot at by arty again this means the real men can get on with their game. heck, even getting an arty to fire may be a winning move because he’ll reveal his position and get plastered. so the game will get far more interesting now that arty cant just sit back and firing-squad the shit out of everybody that gets lit up.

Well, good arty will either remember or quickly learn how to shoot and scoot, so it won’t be THAT easy to counter battery them to oblivion, but yes, it will make a difference.

I guess I’m the only one that enjoyed how arty seemed more difficult to play when they took tracers off. It seemed even more easy mode for me than it is now before they removed them.

Hard to understand why you feel that way, Nathan, since removing a big threat to your existence (other arty seeing your tracer and destroying you) would seem to be the easy mode. It certainly has been for me.

i thought counter arty was too easy and unrealistic. Not that this is a game about realism by any stretch of the imagination.

I see what you are saying about difficulty, though I don’t necessarily agree. Tracers made it imperative to shoot ‘n’ scoot, while removing them made it possible to arty-camp, where unless the enemy had scouts that evaded your screen, arty was pretty much safe to sit tight and lob shells with impunity. It did make spotting more important, though.

Tracers will help separate good from bad arty players I think, if nothing else. I just hope scouting still gets some attention.

Tracers returning is going to be fantastic, it adds a whole other layer of thoughtful arty play. It’s also a small buff to the Object 261 over the T92, as the latter is slow and awkward to reposition while the 261 is fast and agile; this makes me happy as I’ve unlocked the 261, just need 3m+ credits to buy it.

Just spent all my credits on a Patton and spare equipment for tanks I intend to buy in the future. I really love driving US mediums, even if they are a bit weak at up-close brawling they make up for it in ROF and spotting.

Not that the 261 needs any buffs. It’s already possibly the best all-around arty at the top end. The T92 has big splash damage but that’s about it.

Well I just watched some gameplay of the French tanks and now I want to play again and get me an AMX 50 100. That autoloader looks like good times.

Could you post a link to that please? I’ve been wondering (probably not alone) how they’d end up implementing the things.

Sure, just a sec. Its all in Russian, but you can see the tanks in action. Firing that big of a gun that fast is just insanity. At least until the loader runs out and it takes like 25-30s to reload it.

Plus the elevation/depression on those turrets is some wild shit.

That’s … not a problem (native Russian speaker here). :)

Thanks Shiva.

The narrator says even 40 seconds for the magazine reload on the tier 8 heavy, which is an eternity in combat (almost every time the tank had to wait to reload, there was a scene change, heh). He also describes them as maneuverable, comparing them to medium tanks, but they certainly didn’t seem to accelerate in the video like my favorite mediums - though still exceptionally fast for heavy tanks.

I did notice that the reverse speed on the heavies is doubled, just like on medium tanks. That’s a first for the game, IIRC.

From the video, and with the caveat that the stats may change, on the tier 8 heavy we end up with:

300 damage x 6 rounds in the drum x 2.5 seconds between shots = 1800 average damage in 12.5 seconds. Not bad at all. :)

Line about how the Americans can no longer complain about being the ones with cardboard armor … funny but true.

I can’t wait to see the mediums and lights.

Well they hauled ass for heavies for sure. Their speed seemed on par with say a T-34 or Sherman. They’re not Pershings or T-54s by any means, but they were still extremely fast and nimble for a heavy.

LOL the jokes write themselves.

It’s only funny if one is utterly ignorant of French combat prowess in reality - as opposed to popular culture.

Otherwise it’s quite irritating to see the “one gear forward, four in reverse” jokes.
