There is for me, since I tend to have at least one tank blown up at all times when I’m playing. Although I doubt I’ll ever buy anything more expensive than a Ram-II again.

I got a Matilda from the newegg/logitech promo and I rather like it, I didn’t even know about the crew switching thing, I just like that it has a good credit multiplier, gets favored matchmaking, and has a good gun. Since it’s Tier 5, there’s better opportunity to earn credits because the tanks have more hp.

The Renault FT? I did play it a few times :-) I sold it used that slot for the French medium and broke down and used 300 odd gold still in my account to buy a spare slot for the French heavy.

So I still have a tetrarch and T-127. They were different enough to keep both.

Matilda from a promo would be awesome. I bought a Ram II ages ago, but dont drive it much anymore. I really should switch my Easy-8 crew into/out of it and get them extra XP.

W00t, i finally unlocked IS-4. now where do i get 3 million silver from… I dont want no lowe or type 59, so im slowly grinding it out using tier 6 mediums. about 100k a day should be done well in time for 7.3 :)

The french mediums look jummy at tier 6+. i cant wait to get my hands on one of those.

I’m about 20K or so away from unlocking the IS-4 but I’m no hurry, since, like you, I lack the credits. I think I’m at 1.5MM right now.

It’s kind of tempting to keep the IS-3, it’s kind of a beast with the BL-9 and seems like it could be useful in Tier 8 company battles. And I’ve had some memorable games in it.

Be wary of the IS-4 stock turret. With 170 armor most tanks on the field can pen it and it will usually get your gunner or gun(also ignore the engine until you get the good gun).

I pretty much always make a beeline straight for the top gun on a new tank. I don’t even have the top engine for the IS-3.

Thanks for the heads-up. Does anyone have any details of how the conversion of the T-34 into a premium tank and the conversion of the T-30 into a Tier IX TD will be handled? Will crews be “mirrored” or be replaced with new crew? Will the “new” T-34 be a TD or a Heavy tank? How much will the T-30 TD be nerfed to make it fit into Tier IX? Does the new US Tier X heavy look “end-game” competitive?

I unlocked the T-34 long time ago, but have been loathe to purchase it, since it looks terrible for the first 100k of XP until you get the new gun. I’m toying with using free XP to skip it, and buying both it and the T-30 so as to maximally benefit from the changeovers, but that’s going to demand a lot of grinding for silver, so I would like to have a better idea of what I’m getting myself into…

• T34 will be substituted for M103.
Players who have a T34 in their garage at the time of the revision will have it replaced with a M103 with the respective module setup and a 100% crew.
Additionally they will also get a T34 as a premium tank with the old crew and an extra garage slot.
No additional refunds are planned.

• T30 will be substituted for T110 and T30 will be moved to the Tank Destroyers line of the tech tree.

Guh, I’m torn. I have the T32 unlocked, do I really want to endure grinding it up for a premium T34? How bad is the T32? I love the T29, but I don’t see enough of a difference to the T32 to justifiy it as a tier 8.

The stock T-32 is one of the game’s worst tanks. It doesn’t have a strong enough suspension to mount the 105, so you’re stuck using a Tier VI gun, and your turret armor is terrible. The upgraded T-32, however, is great. It uses the same gun as the T-29, but that gun is mounted on a smaller and quicker tank, with better hull armor and no terrible weak-spots on the turret.

If I were you, I would make the decision based entirely on how much free XP you have / how willing you are to spend time or money grinding through the T-32 upgrades.

I agree with Dave47; the upgraded T32 is a superb tank for its tier. The T34 is a dog, and even with the bigger gun it’s, well, a bigger dog with a nastier bite, but it’s still a dog. I only got mine to get the freebies.

have just unlocked the IS and T-29 in tier 7 as well, but not enough cash yet. (Still have the Su-100 and M-36 Slugger to buy in Tier 6 as well!)

American TD changes are interesting - I definitely like their turret version of TD’s in the Wolverine. Looks like I can go sideways in the Wolverine to the new line which is good.
No way in hell I’ll get to T-34 before patch for “freebie” premium. Getting the T-29 would be about it.

IMO T29 is the best tier 7 heavy.

Funny how many T34s you see in fights nowadays. The least popular tier 9 is suddenly the most used. :)

I’m very close to my T30 so yeah, I’m running my T34 all the time. Also running Lowe to pay for it.

I got my tier 9 French heavy yesterday - AMX50-120. The tier 8 one was A LOT of fun, just pure fun. You always have to be on top of your game and always plan on what you are doing in the next couple of minutes.

Stock tier 9 is…, well, at least it’s not much worse than the 8. :) It has the same gun (10 seconds faster reload though, which is very nice), a bit more clumsy (using the upgraded tracks but stock engine), a larger profile and a tiny bit more armor. The tier 8 was so nimble, it takes some time to adjust.

I wonder how the top gun is going to turn out. The second best penetration in the game but only 4 shells in the autoloader. Tier 8 one could kill any other tier 8 in one 6 round “burst”, often getting hit only once in return (IS-3 being the most difficult due to abnormally insane armor now), I don’t think this one can do the same to other tier 9’s.
