It does seem that way, and does make me wonder, I mean, I thought WoT was a pretty big financial success, so what gives?

More money can’t hurt…

well they decided to buy two more dev teams to make two more games, so maybe they’re bleeding money now.

I restarted about 20 days ago - decided to take the premium plunge & am playing mostly T6 & T7 tanks - I earn about 3M credits per week - I average 20-30K per round. After buying a slew of new tanks - always at 1/2 price - well except for the AMX 13-90 which I just bought last night, I still have 7M in the bank.

After a few rammers / gun laying drives for the tanks that absolutely need them, I have 5 pairs of binocs/camo I rotate between my tanks. It takes about 10 seconds to swap between tanks.

As a non-premium, it’s a lot harder to earn the $$. I finally broke down and focused this month on WoT - after this premium 30 day is done, I’ll go back to the occasional weekend but will be focusing on other games likely.

Bottom line - it’s worth the $15 a month to grind through a lot of tanks. It’s also good to use gold to convert XP so you can eliminate alot of grinding. Time is money after all.

I just wish they would tighten up the groupings. T4 and T6 are so painful, it made me quit the game before and while I came back - I note the number of players really hasn’t changed over the year - still floating at about 15-17K during prime time.

I really don’t think Wargaming has figured that out - they look at the NA server as an anomally b/c they make so much money on the russian server.

I can’t speak to Tier 4, but I find Tier 5 and Tier 6 tanks can still be a lot of fun. I’m still running a Sherman M4 on occasion along with my M4A3E8 Easy Eight. I also just purchased a Sherman Jumbo. I picked up a Panzer IV and T-34 in last weekend’s sale, even though I’d previously completed them and unlocked their successor tanks. I expect to play the Pz IV a bit. Not sure about the T-34, I really like the T-34 in beta, but didn’t have much fun with it during release.

Money is generally ok until you start the top tier grind. I’ve had the Patton unlocked for ages, can’t afford it. I could unlock the E-50, can’t afford it. Blew all my cash on the IS-7 a while back, can’t afford anything else. I have less incentive to grind my E-75 or my T28 or my T34 because, though I could get the experience, I won’t have the credits. Top tiers are brutal, credit wise.

small client update today and the launcher decides now is the winter of its discontent and starts sucking down all 2500 megabytes of itself again. fuck. all i wanted was a couple quick rounds. ah well. all for the better i hope.

This 7.1.1 update changes the file structure of the game somewhat, hopefully ending the cheat that is hitzone skins.

is it going to end hitzones though? I didn’t get the impression it was going to do that.

No, it won’t. And the devs said it’s not a cheat. And I agree even though I am not using them skins.

New players need all the help they can get (and they still mostly suck regardless of the skins they use) and experienced players already know all the hitzones, so it doesn’t matter.

WG CEO says it’s a cheat.

First of all, thank you for making me watch 5 minutes of that aweful video and listening to that stupid music :)

Yeah, it seems they don’t like the skins but can’t (won’t?) do anything about it.

So, it’s not a cheat officially (as in “banable offense”) regardless if their CEO thinks that “real men should play without it”. :)

They give the player too much power, not to the degree that Dynamix did with the first Tribes game, but still. Unless they actually do come out against them, if performance in the game is your priority, you may as well play with them because other people will use them against you.

Mine decided to download 1.7gb of itself again. I’m in the same boat. So annoying.

Well, for what it’s worth the levels definitely seem to load a lot faster.

Same here, I have the IS-3 and Ferdi unlocked, and plenty of free exp, but only 400k credits. I also need to buy a KV-3 before the Russian heavy patch (I jumped to the IS using free exp), and there’s a chance by the time it comes around I’ll have the exp to unlock the IS-4 too. In beta I had to use a lot of gold to buy credits, it will most likely be my only way to get ready for the patch, I only average a few games a day.

I feel your pain. Gold for credits is horribly costly, but it’s all a matter of time vs. money, as you note.

This sounds a lot like the posts I made a few months ago, when I was worried that the U.S. heavy patch would hit before I could take advantage of the free tanks. Fortunately, I have been building up silver at a pace that, although slow, is faster than the pace of new content.

Given the fact that we’re still waiting for patch 7.2, I would try to avoid feeling pressure about Russian changes that will arrive, at the very earliest, in patch 7.3.

Also, it’s worth noting that The KV-3 has been on sale twice in the (relatively) recent past. I wouldn’t re-buy it unless it goes on sale again.

Oh, Uniquitous and I still create a qt3 chat channel when we’re on, so if anyone is on the Euro server you might catch us and we could have some platoon games.

Hi all,

I too can be found on the Euro server under my qt3 forum name. :) I’ve been playing since the beta.

Like some of you, I find it to be quite challenging to hold back on buying more gold to exchange into silver. I’ve got a number of tier 8 tanks with more tier 7 almost ready to upgrade - but without the silver, around 500k now, this will be very very hard. Especially since the higher tiers burn through 10 to 15 k on ammo alone per battle…

My question - and please excuse my ignorance, 173 pages is a bit too much to read - is there any QT3 clan? I’m just playing in the melee games but it is very, very hard to gain more win percentage - I’ve been forever scratching at 53% and that target is very elusive. ;-)

And I fear the standard melees won’t get me much into the mid fifties, hehe.

So, has anyone here been messing around on the test server or reading reports from it? I’m interested in hearing about the new US Heavies, but cannot bear the cesspit that is the official WoT forum.
