One thing that I’m hearing is that the Hellcat is a disappointment.

Edit: Yeah, that’s a link to the official forum. But if you are strong you can glean information from the bullshit. I’m not interested in trying to get on the test server due to ridiculous wait times. The server is essentially full at any time that the Russians are on. No disrespect to them. But you have to be on at around 3AM US time to get a chance to get on. My feeling is I’ll wait and see. And meanwhile I’ll try to get a handle on it by checking the forums.

Aww, sad to hear. That’s one of the tanks I was really looking forward to. Partly because of my pro-real tank biases, but also because I enjoyed the Slugger, and found the idea of a faster Slugger intended for flanking to be really interesting.

Well I can’t say that it bothers me too much, I’ve been going up the USSR and German TD lines. OTOH I’ve been enjoying the Wolverine a lot.

Right now I’m about 23,000 XP from either the Ferdi or the ISU-152. I’m thinking that the Ferdi is the way to go. I avoided the Slugger for the same reason that I’d avoid the Hellcat. They both seem like a letdown. Of course YMMV.

Well after a not so unprecedented win streak in my Marder and a couple of games with my Lowe that showed unusual teamwork, I got my Ferdi. Now I rest. I know better than to jump into the game with a new stock vehicle.

That will sometimes get you several losses.

It’s game over for tonight.

No doubt the Ferdinand will be horribly nerfed before tomorrow.

I haven’t unlocked the big gun on the Ferdi (I unlocked the E-75s big gun instead, it was one or the other), but even with the middle 105 the Ferdi is good. Slow, without the big engine, but solid. I still prefer the Soviet line I think; I love my Object 704, and the ISU-152 was a good TD especially once you get the BL-10. But the Ferdi is tough and accurate, and I can’t wait for the big boomstick.

The T28, American heavy TD at T8, is even more fun to play, though, with the big gun. It’s ugly, slow as hell, but can take a licking and keep on ticking. It and its big brother the T95 are creeping death when they advance.

Oh sure, I love the SU-152. And it was a big choice to go with the Ferdi instead of the ISU. But ultimately I wanted the Ferdi because I read that it’s kinda scary. And hey, German guns are a bit more accurate, right?

Yes, in general, the German guns are more accurate, and the one frustration with Soviet TDs is that, even when you are giving the enemy the middle finger of God, sometimes God’s aim is a bit off. The shell seems to go…whereever. The German guns seem to hit a lot more often, and the big gun on the Ferdi hits HARD. It’s a great TD, and one that gets a lot of attention from the enemy.

Just got my AMX 13 90 and I see it’s 16k for the bigger gun and 9k for suspension. Will I be able to mount the gun if I unlock it or do I need the suspension first anyway?

Not sure, but for most tanks you need the suspension before anything. For a medium/light, it’s still a good idea anyhow, because an AMX 13 without mobility = dead.

you can do suspension last if you want. sweet tank huh? gun laying drive makes it better as it syncs aim time with reload.

You can tell in general by looking at the tank in the garage and looking on the far right column where the “Weight/Load Limit” is listed. This will tell you what the current load is and how much extra allowance is available. Then you need to compare the weight of the current gun vs. the weight of the new gun. Kind of a pain, but all the information is there.

You will be able to upgrade the gun first. :)

Here’s a neat link with the tank trees - works just like in the game itself:

http://www.wotdb.info/

The stock 13 90 has about 1,5 tons of leeway on the original tracks, and the new gun is about 500 kilos heavier, so no prob.

Another question - is anybody using the WoT Assistant Apps for iPhone or Android?

These are neat, because only here you can see the progress, i.e. delta for the past 24 hours, one or two weeks. The Android app additionally shows you your rewards including description, which is very nice. You also can add favourites, i.e. other WoT players and compare them.

Again, whether you can get the gun before the tracks or not, I seriously recommend thinking twice about that priority scheme when you’re in a tank like the AMX 13 90. True, the better gun means more damage/kills, but the tracks for most tanks seriously improve maneuverability. The main purpose of that tank is not to carry a big gun, but to carry a gun fast and get it to the flanks where it can kill stuff and get away. It’s not exactly a scout, and not exactly a medium, really. But yeah, guns are a lot sexier than tracks, I do admit.

I use it. If you’re interested in the WoT assistant you might also be interested in the Tank Tracker website. I really liked the website, because, it gives a win – loss percentage for one hour, 24 hours, seven days, and 30 days; whereas the WoT assistant only gives win – loss numbers overall (not percentages) and only for 24 hours one-week and two-week intervals.

Now I am. Thanks for the heads up.

My Pershing team unlocked their 3rd tier of skills. That’s the furthest I’ve gotten on any tank – they’ve got just over 1000 battles total (although many/most of them were on lower tier tanks). My T-54 team is coming in second with an 88% on their second tier skill and just over 900 battles, but I’ve mostly stopped running them, since I’ve concluded Tier IX mediums are a bit frustrating because of the battles they end up in.

So far I haven’t bothered assigning my 3rd skill. If I assign it to Firefighting, that all gets reset when the next big patch comes out right?

Do the new skills replace the old skills, or do we still have access to Repair and Camouflage for all team members, and the new skills are just things we can add on top of them if we’ve got the XP?

When the patch comes out, all your skills will be reset. Basically a free re-spec.

Last I heard, Repair and Camo will still be there in addition to all new skills.

Oh nice, I’ve been sitting on tankers who could select a second/third skill because I was afraid they’d be stuck with it.

Thanks - I’ll try that too!

With the WOT app I figured out my issue. I have a 20 win loss that I just can’t seem to make up. And the reason for that is that I play with tanks for the 2X win each time I play. But instead of continuing to play the tanks that I win with, I try to get the 2X with a bunch of different tanks. Some of which I suck at.

So I win ten games and then lose ten.

So it’s time to sell a few losing tanks and focus on my winners.

BTW, I also went into my garage and sold stuff that I was no longer using and got over 600,000 silver.
