It’s in the newsletter I linked a while back. Lower visibility for all lights and mediums, slightly better turn rate. That’s all. Only ‘real’ change is that the IS-4 is getting more armor, because you know…it totally really needs it. :)

Have they ever posted the actual XP rules like the credits rules above? I would love to shove that in the face of people that shoot at me for capping.

Yeah but still whoever is searching for the last enemy (and especially the arty who will have a shot at it once it’s detected) will still yell, since it looks like they won’t get anything out of other people capping the flag. Capping bonus should really aplpy to the entire team, since everyone contributes to it one way or another.

Although I must admit, the devs’ wording on this is not really clear - “the capping reward doesn’t depend on the number of the “cappers” or their contribution to the cap - everyone gets the same share”. I am not sure whether “everyone” means “everyone in the capping circle” or “everyone on the capping team”.

Not that I know of.

They’ve posted a translation of the above rules on the US server: http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/18525-how-credits-are-calculated/

IMO their translation is quite bad and misses a few important points. My translation/summary is better, no doubt :)

Speaking of friendly fire. I am not sure if friendly fire generates repair costs but if it does, it should penalize the “damager” for the same amount. Need to test it on some of the cheaper tanks.

I’m reasonably sure it means ‘everyone on the capping team’. I seem to clear a lot more credits when I’m on a team cap and not in the circle. Of course, I could be imagining it. Pretty sure that’s what it means though.

Almost true.
Shooting IS-4s is fun for my ISU-152 right now (indeed, the heavier the target the better). The same would be true if I had a Ferdinand or JagdTiger. And in the past they were quite fun targets for my 152mm howitzer KV-2 / SU-152.

I can’t find the original thread, but at one point I posted this on another private forum:

Shamelessly stolen from the Beta forums:

You will get experience for:

  1. Damage to enemy tanks.
  2. Critical damage to enemy tanks. The difference in levels between the tank is taken into the account. The higher the level of the tank you damage the more experience you’ll get
  3. For discovering an enemy tank, You will get more experience for discovering SPG than for a regular tank.
  4. For “lighting up” enemy tank while your allies damage it from beyond their range of vision.
  5. Bonus experience for destroying enemy tank. Only if you actually got the kill. The difference in levels between the tank is taken into the account. The higher the level of the tank you damage the more experience you’ll get
  6. Bonus experience for capturing enemy base. Applied only to the tanks in the “circle”, not the whole team, proportionally to the time spent in the enemy base circle.
  7. Bonus experience for restarting the capture counter by damaging enemy tank which is capturing your base. Experience is given in proportion to %HP you took off the enemy tank in your base circle.
  8. Bonus experience if you stayed alive.
  9. For “active battle actions” - shooting in some radius from the enemy and being in the radius of enemy fire. You don’t get much but it still influences your experience gain.
  10. The more your team damages the enemy the more experience each player on your team gets. Only damage to killed enemy is taken in account. Coefficient is not that big but still it’s experience.
  11. Bonus experience if your team wins: +50% to each player!

You will NOT get experience for:

  1. Damaging ally tank.
  2. Team killing.
  3. Ricochet and “no penetration”.
  4. For receiving damage.
  5. For receiving titles in the “hero of the battle”. (except for “Invader”, see #5 in upper list, and also “Defender” see #7 in the upper list).
  6. No bonus experience for a draw! And of course none if your team lost.
  7. The special bonus for “killing all enemy tanks” does not exist!

Ah lovely, so the ‘no cap’ screamers will continue so they can drive face first into mismatches trying to get kill XP. Oy.

in other news i maxed out my stug and unlocked the easy 8 on the .ru server today. God having to tool around in the hetzer was painful. stupidly enough i will go through that again once the game goes live in europe.

i only need another 400k in cash to get the sherman and kit it out properly. should go quickly enough, got a full stable of tier5 stuff in the hangar making gobs of credits.

Yeah, when I first read it I was thinking it was spread amongst the whole capturing team. But it is probably anyone who has a “capture %”.

The Easy Eight is a nice tank I think. I have mine with all the upgrades, though only one mod (the rammer). It fires fast, the gun is good for its tier, and it’s mobile. It gets one-shotted by Ferds and stuff like that of course, but it’s fun.

60 day ban, yay.

Some ‘teammate’ jackhole decided to sideswipe me and start blasting me in my 3601. Hit me three times, had me down to about 100 hp, so in a mini-anger moment I fired back and one shotted him. ‘Reported!’ ‘Reported!’

Boom 2 months off.

I’m thinking if that’s how it’s run and if they’re going to allow behavior like that…admittedly I did fire back…I have plenty of other things to be doing anyway.

Bye bye WoT.

That’s ridiculous. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to justify giving them money if they’re going to continue to run their game so stupidly.

That said, have you attempted to give your side of the story?

  1. APPEALING OF A DECISION

If you don’t agree with administration’s decision, notify the Administration via e-mail to support@worldoftanks.com. The e-mail should contain the complete description of the argument with the corresponding screenshots attached. Any other ways of appeal are not subject to consideration. Any complaints on forums are regarded as off-topic.

If it were me, i’d be fighting back on this and trying to get the other player banned instead.

edit I PM’d Overlord about the situation so we’ll see if I get banned too.

I’ve said it before, but this is why we desperately need a combat log. You could PROVE that he hit you repeatedly before you retaliated.

Agreed. Even if the combat log was only visible to the Devs (to avoid blindfiring and looking for hits or whatever).

Its the one big loophole in their system: The asshole who griefs without killing anyone. One match in my KV I had an M3 Lee shooting me in the ass repeatedly for no reason. I was watching the pass and he wanted to see past me or something. After the 5th shot (and being tracked repeatedly), I turned my turret and one shotted him. I never got in trouble because I had like 4 kills at the time, but if he’d opened the match doing that and I did what I did and then died to arty or whatever the system would ban me for it.

I’m actually tempted to just make a throwaway account and do nothing but grief people’s tracks every match until they do something about it.

So I got some email that is difficult to decipher, but I can log back into the game now. Soooo I’m guessing it means I was right in the end. :)

My screenshots were badly timed, they don’t have the guy’s name on the hits, I was too slow with the print screen button. Mostly because I was freaking pissed. But yeah I’m wondering if they do actually have a log of some sort because I barely said anything in my mail.

I don’t know, I mean, the fact that this happens at all kind of turns me right off from playing this when it goes live.

I had a team killer last match. He couldn’t punch through my armor but he managed to damage my fuel tanks. I ended up loading a high explosive round and put at the base of his tracks. Didn’t cause much damage but he was a stuck in the line of fire when the enemy crested the hill.

They don’t need to do anything really haevy-handed. All they need to do is have every shot of yours that hits a team mate either cost you the same amount in repairs, or do the same damage to you that you do to them, regardless of the relative sizes of the tanks or guns involved. Sure, some folks would still grief you but they’d die off quickly each game, or bankrupt themselves.

The truth is, you play dozens and dozens of matches. Right now, at least, none of these matches matter that much. If you lose out on one match (it’s probably a crappy Campinovka sitzkrieg anyhow!) it’s not a big deal. I’d rather let the players in the game enforce anti-TK policies, by obliterating the asshats, if they’re willing to suffer the financial hit. More fun than half the matches anyhow.

In truth, I’m surprised at the very low level of TK’ing I see. Most of the time people are too busy finding a bush to hide in.

The…the arty mechanics save us from TK’ing?

(head explodes)

You could be right!

Lokust2501,

Overlord has replied to a personal conversation entitled “game administration question”.

Overlord said:

Hello,

60-day ban? For 1 TK? That’s impssible. What’s his nickname and login?

Overlord

Do you want me to pursue this further or are you good now?

I’m good. Played a bit today but taking a break. :)

Thanks for checking up though.
