I think the torture quests are a hidden political statement by some of Blizzard’s design team concerning what happened in Iraq and with combantants of war being given to other countries to be “interrogated” there.

Me doing them made me think about that which probably didn’t happen by accident.

I hit 70 on the aforementioned character without doing much of Shadowmoon and hardly any of Netherstorm. Right at the end of TBC, I did do the quests to get “Hand of A’dal” and keyed for Black Temple.

I forgot to mention before that my 80 didn’t do the DEHTA quests and stopped in the quest line that asked me to torture some guy.

Sure, that’s pretty normal (not clearing all of BC, not the aversion to ‘torture’ in a cartoon game where you commit genocide every day). It’s a lot more than “less than half” though :)

If you server-transfer a character with heirlooms on him, do the heirlooms transfer as well?

I was thinking of transferring one of my 80s to Moonrunner from Kel’Thuzad with a set of heirlooms so I could level with some of you nerds. I hear it’s a fun Guild!

They do transfer with you, everything you carry with you, although there’s a gold cap (I forget how high.)

Yes, they do. I’m planning on doing the same come Cataclysm, problem is I have 7 level 80’s and my wife simply won’t allow me to transfer them all…

I imagine the aversion to torture is not the norm. Most probably do it simply because the game tells them to. I don’t know why you imagine I commit genocide every day though.

They raised the price to be commensurate with justice point gain at 85, but of course you can only still get them at the level 80 rate now. So basically you are boned. Should’ve bought them before 4.0!

That’s a shame. I was thinking of buying the heirlooms relevant to a spellcaster (cloth chest and shoulders, weapon) and transferring them to Moonrunner so I could more easily roll a Mage or Warlock.

You can still buy them, it will just take longer to get the emblems. You can also check out the Wintergrasp vendor if you have a bunch of honor sitting around, as you can get shoulders and weapons from there.

I don’t know how much Honor/how many emblems I have; my account’s not even active at the moment. :)

But it’s unlikely I have enough for that, sad to say; I’d need to be honor capped or emblem capped on a couple of characters to pick up enough heirlooms to make paying for a server transfer worthwhile.

I plan to use heirlooms to take chars through outlands at the very least. I am looking forward to everything changing, but Outlands will still be there…
