I haven’t been on for a while but I jumped back in to prepare for this and finally re-did my talents under the new system. I went with a Frost build (mage) and it says “New spell: Frostfire Orb” but I can’t find it anywhere in my spellbook.

It’s not available until level 83. They do this with every expansion.

Dwarf shaman, here I come (since shamans are one of two classes I’ve never gotten to level 80 with). That will keep me going until December 7.

How do Shamans compare to the other spellcasters as DPS-dealers? I like the idea of going full DPS, but am not so keen on wearing cloth, as I like to solo a fair bit.

They’re fun, and can put out some of the highest DPS out there as Elemental, definitely competition for Mages. I’m not sure how much of that was changed in Cataclysm, though.

But, I’ve come up blank (or at least not with anything I like). Any suggestions? I may just go with a dwarf warlock instead.

Heh, well I’m not much of a writer. It takes me forever to name my characters generally. I just wish I’d gone with the name Golden Sacks (or perhaps Gold in Sacks) for my bank toon’s guild instead a rather generic name. Thanks for the suggestions!

That’s pretty good.

I’m sure you guys have seen characters running around as this, but the shaman name that amused me was a female orc named Oprah Windfury. I’m drawing slim pickings on shaman booze puns at the moment, though. Anything with “spirits” is too obvious, and the best (cough) I could come up with for Lava Lash was Lavasmashed. …Smashedbeard?

Edit: pretty sure you can’t use '. (Thank god, the game would be full of Klingons.)
