Ask a guard for professions and under there will be Flying. Hint, you need to take an elevator to get there.

My guess would be near the flight master.
You can also train in Dalaran, the starter cities in Northrend, and the old places in Outlands.
love the name too!

What exactly is the new rested system anyway?
So far I sure don’t see it being a long climb to 85. My guild already has several 82-83 and one fanatic who is 84. I’m told the server already has folks with firsts for 85 and crafting. I’ve probably spent 2-3 hours playing and I’m almost at 81 without trying very hard. The first two instances are nice, not real tough though I heard pugs weren’t that great.

So our guild hit level 2, and then Blizzard took it away. :(
They decided to take away guild xp from achievements.
Very disappointing.
Yeah, we’ve already seen some 85’s on Cho’gall. My girlfriend was online about an hour ago when the first Hunter hit 85. She was kinda confused, considering we’d just come back from the game store and already someone was at cap in this “epic” expansion. I had to explain to her what “catass” meant.
Of course, was it really catass? Eighteen hours? That’s it? I expected ~24 hours after release for the first 85 worldwide, with an average of ~36 hours after release across all servers. To see a level 85 – not even the first one, mind you – in 18 hours on my backwater server was kind of unsettling, since I haven’t even started the new content.
On the other hand, it’s only five levels. I think there was initial muttering about 80-85 taking as long as 70-80 at Wrath release, but I sincerely doubt they kept that as their design goal.

Supposedly the first 85 was 6 hours. That’s pretty crazy, but it is only 5 levels as you’ve said.

God, the voice acting is horrible.

I was ganked about 15 times in the landing zone of Vashj’ir. Once I phased it wasn’t so bad.
After logging in, I saw a chat message go by for guy who was the first to hit 85 on the server. I was literally flying from Icecrown to the boat when that happened. Crazy! He must have been playing all day.

Cataclysm has brought me back to WoW after around a 3 year break.
My god, they’ve refined and polished it so much. The goblin starting areas are just a blast. You can really see the investment they have made in their product (and rightly so).
Did blackrock caverns in a guild group with the tank being badge geared once, ICC 25 geared the second time, and two DPS being ICC25 geared, healer ICC25 geared, and me, a newly minted 80 druid in cat form pulling all of 1300 dps. The only difficulties we had were my 21k hp on the… erm… third I think it was boss (Quicksilver armor guy) and not knowing the fight mechanics the first time. After that it wasn’t hard at all. Fun little dungeon, if tremendously short compared to the other BLackrock XXXXX ones. (But that’s the model these days).
Note that it probably is hard for folks doing it in WotLK greens/blues, but imminently doable. (I was doing it in TBC raid gear and a few LK greens/blues that you could get in LK from simple, non-group quest lines.)
The main thing that people have to learn is CC. Some of the abilities in the Caverns splash a LOT of ancillary damage all over the place, and that will tax lesser geared healers.
How did you hit level 2? The daily caps, even if they reset at noon and you guys catassed it at midnight last night, are insufficient to level in only two days.

Man, I can’t faceroll the third boss of BRC.
Initially, Guild achievements gave experience above and beyond the daily exp cap.
They retroactively changed that.

The more I play the more I think the experience increase is overdone.
I risk to ding even by glaring at a mob.
I saw my first 85 in Org yesterday at 18:00 so he needed max 18 hours to ding max level.
Given play time of 5-6 hours for semi-dedicated people (read: with a job but no other obligations like family) they will ding max level this weekend (I expect myself will do it as well if I get my CE today at work here).
In our semi-hardcore guild we had around 20% already at 83 when I logged last night.
We had a miner already getting max profession level at 82 in Deepholm so my main (miner / skinner) will ding max before the weekend as well.
I’m really, really worried about the end game for now but of course I need to see it myself first before judging.
In better news: The Xylem quest line reward (hat) in Aszhara is one of the best if not the best vanity item in game.
I ran around the whole night transformed and it was a blast mopping up quests in Winterspring (for the achievements)!
Amazing stuff :)

Aren’t all these world first to level caps, more of a team effort anyway? Things may have changed and I haven’t checked on it for a while but people were applying some pretty cheesy tactics. Like running around and tagging a huge bunch of mobs and having their guild take them down?
I briefly logged in this morning to check out the new Blacksmithing recipes and there was a lvl 83 worgen warrior standing around. Wtf? You can burn from 1 to 85 in 24 hours now or what?

Yeah, the people who hit 85 in 13 hours aren’t just Questing Really Fast. I’m sure all of them played in the beta so they already know the quests, they spend time mapping out a strategy and usually have a guild working with them. They’re playing a different game than everyone else.
I would say if you didn’t research or plan anything in advance, and just jumped in and went full speed, 25 hours (with no rested XP) is a more realistic estimate of how long it would take to get to 85.
