You can race-change to worgen now, which many level 80s have taken advantage of.

Yup same with all the Tauren paladins and Undead Hunters that run around since patch 4.03 on Horde side.
$25 for a race change.

Im impressed with what I’ve seen so far despite me buggering up royally and logging in last night already for the big launch only to see a bunch of level 82s run past and gave the rest if the guild take the piss out of me for missing it by 24 hours.

As someone who hates levelling and sees it as a barrier to being able to play the game I want I won’t complain about logging off at level 81 and Blizz are coming dangerously close to making levelling enjoyable. The mount hjyal zone is fantastic. I love the move to lots of little quest hubs over making you run backwards and forwards across the entire map. And the good dose of general silliness with things like the bear quest are most welcome.

Ah right, forgot about that.

what??? I’ve played 1 day and 20 hours on my lvl 52 paladin…and I think I’m pretty fast… Started him from scratch a few weeks ago.

I think I finished off the Worgen area last night, finding myself with the Night Elves after just level 13.

I loved the area but I’m a little disappointed there wasn’t content to take me to level 20. What level are you when you finish the Goblin stuff?

Anyone know why I got attacked by the neutral Guardians of Hyjal once I landed outside the cabin and dismounted from the dragon? Apparently this is a known problem, since there was a huge pile of skeletons there. The graveyard was close by, thankfully.

I saw about five 85s announced on Tich yesterday afternoon, as I was tooling around in Kezan on my Gobbo mage. One at least I recognized from being on Tich for years, an Orc named Spork.

My wife and I were playing little goblins and liking it a lot. It’s a fun game, with lots of polish, especially if like me you don’t take it too seriously. I long ago gave up on the whole big guild uber-raiding treadmill, and though I have an 80 mage I plan to get to 85 and do some random dungeons and stuff, I will probably spend most of my time just leveling up the rest of my brood.

I played quite a bit yesterday, and I am still a little bit short of 82. It is pretty mind boggling how many people are 85 now, but I guess getting that extra 8 hours of leveling while I was sleeping helps a lot, plus as was said, people who have done these zones in beta can blast through things, while I stop and read.

I kind of regret doing Hyjal. Visually, the zone is more of the same, as opposed to Vash which is a completely new kind of thing. I just found being under all that water vaguely oppressive.

Yeah, not a fan of the underwater stuff, seahorse and all.

I don’t see it as oppressive, given how gaudy and open it is. If anything it’s a little too light for my tastes.

I’m having some pretty big issues. Thinking it may be just the server crumbling from all the high load right now.

Here’s a few of them:

  • When I get mail from the AH, it just says “Alliance Auction House” and no text to tell me what I sold, no text is contained inside the message either. This happens to 50% of the AH mail I get right now.
  • I can only loot roughly 2/3rds of all the mobs I kill. The rest don’t ever pop up the loot window.
  • One quest in Mount Hyjal, “An Offering For Aviana”, had me receive an item to offer at a shrine. Problem is that the chat log wouldn’t acknowledge that I received the item and when I mouse over it in the inventory I just get “Retrieving item information”. This also applies to some quest rewards when accepting other quests. Oh, and all items linked in chat.
  • I can’t open any containers in my inventory.

Already opened a ticket but I don’t expect a reply in the next 48 hours… sigh

EDIT: It seems that the quest log is also bugged for me. I went back to Stormwind to to the dailies and they now just show up in my objectives as 0/12 and 0/1… no actual objective text. The flavour and quest names are still visible, though.

EDIT EDIT: Oh, and I can’t loot the fishing bobber or the apples. I’m getting pretty pissed now.

I’ve had all of those in the past, but only due to major lag / packetloss issues.

Hit 82.25 yesterday, after approximately six hours played (I think). That includes all of Hyjal and one run through Blackrock via the random dungeon tool. I was debating respeccing my holy pally to a more offensive build, but leveling is SO fast (and I’m reading every word of quest text) that I’m not going to bother.

Overall, I’m impressed; my only complaint is that the in-game cinematics are a little buggy; the sound cut out a few times, and the camera occasionally pointed somewhere other than where the action was happening.

Double post. Sorry.

After a two year break I have been leveling up a new Shaman. I was wondering if anyone could recommend which low level zone is the most changed or most enjoyable.

I’m considering the following Horde zones:
Azshara
Northern Barrens
Silverpine Forest

I went to Azshara at level 12 and it’s pretty awesome so far, I’ll definately hit 13 and I just walked in and got some quests from the first 2 guys you see.

So what is the quest that leads you to Mt. Hyjal? I got to Stormwind and was presented with 2 quests: One “Call of Duty” where I had to ride a boat to Vashj’ir, and another where I had to look in this little birdbath and watch a cool cinematic. I watched the cinematic and wasn’t prompted to do anything afterwards, so I took the boat. Now I’m wondering if I missed something. Do people just fly into Hyjal, knowing that it is new?

There should have been 2 hero’s call quests on the board, one of them sends you to Vash’jir, the other one sends you to Hyjal via Moonglade. I think you can also just fly to Moonglade to pick up the starter quest.

I haven’t done any of these since the revamp, but I’ve read that Silverpine has the conclusion of the storyline started in the Worgen start area, so maybe that is worth doing.

There are three separate “intro” quests. First, there is the quest that just gets blasted at you when you log in. This is the one where you look in the birdbath and Thrall says stuff to you in his soothing baritone. Then, there are two different quests at the Stormwind Hero boards, one leards you to Vash, the other to Hyjal. Check the board and your quest log again.
