Quick question, does the Qt3 guild Drop Bears still maintain a horde version, and are they still on Moonrunner or did they move?

The QT3 horde guild is on Arathor, (called Quarter to Three,) it moved there a few years ago. It’s not as active as the Drop Bears.

How active would that be?
Also, thanks for the info!

DEAD I say DEAD! :) Really, until I can get some dungeon/raid experience (and I’ve joined a casual raiding guild for a bit) there’s no reason to come to QuartertoThree on Arathor (unless your character needs bags, we have plenty :) Once I know more of how to lead a casual raiding guild, then I’m going to solicit for more members and then we can become active again. Although it’s interesting, this new guild was supposed to know raiding and the leader hadn’t a clue about Serpentine (Ath had to help us out via whisper) so maybe you don’t need to know much about raiding to lead a casual raiding guild :)

Well I’m thinking more of starting a Golbin alt up somewhere than transferring characters. I normally play alliance, the friends play alliance and we’re all currently more or less on one server but I thought it would be fun to play with some QT3ers.

Without some kind of focus, people just don’t want to stay. And without people we can’t really get a focus/events going, so it kind of spirals downward. And the thing is Drop Bears on Moonrunner is a great guild, so most folks just go there. I though really really prefer playing as Horde, so I’m trying to tough it out on Arathor.

I wouldn’t discourage people from rolling there though if they’re just playing alts. I think people do pop over there from time to time.
I think your guildies are drunk or high. :)

I was wondering. Oh well, they really aren’t doing the intro thing too well but I’ll wait and see after the week is over.

But there’s never anyone else on. I check the logs daily and maybe one person will be on for some amount of time. The only thing coming to Arathor and joining the guild gives you is some bags and the illusion that you belong in a guild. And as guilds now have clear levels, even that illusion will be shattered. Most people want to play with other QuarterToThree people and so they need to join Drop Bears. Right now, if they want to play Horde with other QuarterToThree people, Arathor is not a good choice.

We’ve got a small group playing horde on Dalvengyr, but it’s an open pvp server so avoid if that’s not your cup of tea.

Blizzard doesn’t think they’re too hard
“remember getting a hunter to kite Drakkisath at the end of UBRS all the way to the beast room to buy time for the raid to DPS the 2 dragonkin adds?”

I leveled a Belf mage there to the mid 60s before sort of giving up. Sure, Lorini was on, and she’s cool, but it still gets awfully lonely.
Not only is it a dead guild, but Arathor seems like a dead server – every place I went, even post-shattering, tended to have the bare minimum PCs needed to keep it viable. The AH market is ridiculously slow.

Yeah but UBRS was a 10 man dungeon for a long time, kinda apples to oranges comparison.

I miss those days. That was hella fun, especially if you were survival specced. the raid would be yelling me on vent to drop him already! I loved kiting so much.
I’ve having a lot of fun with kiting heroic stuff as a hunter right now. The two Deadmines pulls with dual ogres and dual oafs are way easier if you just kite one of them, and the final boss of Blackrock Caverns is of course just one big kiting exercise with an achievement if you manage to get it just right. Not to mention those occasions where somebody important dies and you end up dragging a couple of trash mobs around until they die or people run back in.
It’s really a blast. I only picked up hunter as class in WotLK, but it feels like I never had the occasion to use all my skills until now.
I feel like Elemental Shaman and Hunter might be the two best DPS classes to run Heroics as.
As both classes, you have a large amount of strong crowd control (Hex/Bind Elemental or Trap/possibly Wyvren Sting / offtanking) and soft crowd control (Earthbind/Frost Shock/Thunderstorm or trap-based snares and Disengage) to kite with.
As both classes, you can dispel, which is huge in instances. People really underestimate the power of dispels…
The other thing people underestimate is the power of interrupts, which my Elemental Shaman provides in spades. Even on trash, interrupts are incredibly powerful.
And finally, both classes provide a large amount of raw DPS with which to burn mobs down, particularly mobs which you are kiting.
I’m not going to say it’s easy to solo entire packs of Heroic trash, but I have done it before, and if I have my friend with me on his Hunter, we’ll happily 2man any snareable trash in any Heroic.

Add me to the Fuck Outland Right In Its Ear Club. I enjoyed 1-60, and it didn’t feel like a grind. This place, this is a grind. I might just try pure instances, see how that works.

Its totally doable as a tank or healer. As dps it might take a while.
