Did arcane get a boost in 4.1? I haven’t played my mage much lately.

Yep.

Arcane Blast cast time has been reduced to 2.0 seconds, down from 2.35 seconds. In addition, the stacking effect of Arcane Blast now increases the damage done by Arcane Explosion, and Arcane Explosion does not consume that effect.

Arcane Explosion damage has been increased by 30%.

Arcane Missiles damage has been increased by 13%.

Talent Specializations

o Arcane Barrage damage has been increased by 13%.
o Improved Arcane Explosion now also reduces the mana cost of Arcane Explosion by 25/50%.

it’s really easy to keep mana up as arcane now, I can maintain almost full burn phase even on the new instance boss with 350 ilvl gear.

when arcane power is up, the arcane blast can crit 80k+ easily per cast, that’s as much as deep freeze before nerf.

I could crit AB for 80k in 3.3.5. :-/

yep but how long can you maintain that burn phase? I know I missed a few changes that made in before 4.1, they reduce the base cost of arcane blast as well.

"Arcane Blast now costs 5% of base mana before stacking modifiers, down from 7%

As far as the last boss in ZA is concerned: much like the original version, you have to adjust based on the form, including not casting much in the eagle form. If people are smart and avoiding the tornadoes, there is very little regular damage in the phase; the tank doesn’t take much either, although I suppose it would be more as a Paladin tank. So, if you’re in a caster heavy group, just wait between casts for the DPS, so the healer has time to heal you back up, before continuing.

It’s one of the few boss fights that really makes it hard to be ranged DPS, instead of melee… welcome to what melee deal with, all the time!

it’s very hard to wait for a shaman healer, because he gets zap when he cast a heal, their chain heal doesn’t even cancel off the damage groups takes if they stay together.

Also the tornade have insane zapping range, if fires off aoe lightning, so if shaman cast a heal next to me, and there is a tornado nearby, it hits him for 12k and it hits me for 12k as well.

be nice to have a druid or priest, massive aoe heal ftw on that fight.

The vast majority of Paladin abilities, including the primary threat/damage rotational abilities, are not considered spells, but rather melee / physical attacks. This includes Crusader Strike, Judgment, Shield, and (I think) Avenger’s Shield.

It pretty much only procs on Consecration and Holy Wrath in our standard rotation, which while admittedly are useful filler spells, they’re just that; filler.

Warriors actually have it worse, if I remember correctly, because Thunder Clap (which is much more of a rotational ability than either Consecration or Holy Wrath) is a spell, and triggers the lightning.

Sweet! Within a few days of coming back to for the ‘7 free days’ my account gets hacked. I wasn’t planning on staying honestly and it’s not like I lost anything (my highest level toon isn’t even 40) but it still makes me crazy pissed for some reason. I even just reset my password when I reopened the account for security purposes. Sumbitch.

Everyone needs an authenticator with this game, unfortunately. The iphone version is free, at least.

Right now my guild is a lull because people are tired of doing Bastion of Twilight and Black Rock Depths. We’re hoping that patch 4.2 can get some excitement back into playing WoW.

Yea, my guild has been in a lull for over a month or two. We will see this week how many people log on for the new patch.

Working on Cho’gall at least a little while tonight.

Members who got invited late are a bit upset they don’t get to do Nef or Al’Akir because we lost a few guildies who quite WoW and were well geared and experienced enough to make a difference in those two end bosses. (We have two 10-man raids because we’re a small guild that raid late at night)

We got Cho’gal down a few weeks ago. Can’t get Nef because people can’t get on the pillars fast enough. What a retarded thing. Guess we’ll have to get him in EZ Mode.

Along with 4.2 landing today, apparently The Burning Crusade is now included as part of the base game, and the WoW Battle Chest. With the Recrit-A-Friend bonus now going to level 80 instead of 60 as well, they’re making it even easier to get new players further along into the game for less money and time spent.

Plus F2P until 20th level.

I also recently got an email about how I have a free copy of the base game (not sure if that includes BC or not as per above) that I can give to a friend. It says it’s for being a veteran of the game, so not everybody got it I guess, but it’s not clear what the cutoff point for that is.

I’m getting more and more spams that bypass my spam filter and look legit until I mouse-over the link to the “7 Days Free!” which shows URLs like www.blizzard-warrior-of-craft.com. They use Blizzard’s artwork in the email, even the artwork announcing Patch 4.1 …

The last spam Blizz email I got was really good. It had one spelling error that made me pause and realize it was fake.

I got the free base game for a friend email as well. I know it’s legit because I use different email addresses for everything, and this one came in on the blizz email. All my WoW spam/phishing emails come in on my WoW Insider, Elitist Jerks, and GoGamer email addresses. I understand the first two, but that last one was a bit of a shock to me.
