Man, would’ve loved this before I quit. My shaman still has its Ten Storms shoulders somewhere (the funky wolf head / lightning ones)

Yeah, PvP is absolutely one reason to use such an account, it just doesn’t happen to appeal to me.

Speaking of PvP, have the anguished cries over its ruin due to transmogrifcation started?

Huh?

Transmogrification encourages players to hold onto items with sentimental or aesthetic value, and the Ethereals anticipate that personal bag and bank space will be at a premium now that everyone will be hoarding their frilly pantaloons and leather jerkins. In anticipation of this new demand for additional storage space, they’ll be introducing a unique Void Storage service. What’s Void Storage, you ask? We’ll provide more details soon.

It will make you run the old content again to farm so I don’t see how Blizzard will not jump on this chance to prolong the game / treadmill.
Really evil would be to offer those sets / parts for real money though as an alternative (maybe soften the outcry by only allowing you to add parts you miss of sets you already possess one / a few pieces of).

Personally I will not re-activate for that though it would free probably 60% of my rogue’s bank (80% if it includes weapons).
I would cloth him in t2 (BWL) and use the 2 swords from there if it was possible.

I need a new expansion to consider re-activating.

Um, that text I posted was copied right from that article. Why would it be really stupid?

My priest still has Benediction in the bank. I used to take it out and carry it around in town just for the hell of it.

According to MMO-Champion 4.3 will introduce a looking for raid tool that will function in the same way as the LFD tool does now. That should be interesting, with all kinds of possible ramifications. Will they eliminate the current restrictions on questing that being in a raid has now, will all the new pugs flooding raids and wiping immediately make Blizzard further scale back the difficulty, etc. It will also greatly reduce/eliminate the server raid pug. It’s almost like Blizzard is trying to make servers an irrelevant detail for play.

I should really say Anathema, since I’m always shadow spec. I remember finishing the quest for that, one of the game’s high points for me.

Also getting 3 new 5mans which my guess will be the ICC of Cata. It brought be back last time, I may check it out again.

According to my profile, I’ve been WoW free for 5months except it feels like 2 years. I don’t think that is a good sign…

Yeah, I’m curious how they’re going to work this with the current lock-out system for raids. It would be pretty crappy to join a horrible raid and get saved to it.

That probably WAS the game’s high point for me, even though my guild was the first on our server (and like 10th in the world) to clear BWL. But that was our achievement…getting Benediction felt like my achievement. I was like the 3rd priest on my server to get it. Shortly thereafter, I answered a “LF Heals” PUG cry in Org, got to the instance and the first comment out of anyone’s mouth was, “Damn, he has Bene! We’re good.”

Yeah, that was an ego boost. :)

Hm well that was the problem with every PUG raid in Wrath, too or?

They need to combat the “Post specc and gear score and link achievement” mostly if they really want to make raiding like in Wrath again. (only way I can see it is either disabling GS if that is possible or nerf all raids to the ground so 15 people can carry 10 noobs through).

Your text does not say you’re required to currently own the item you want the appearance of. I’ve seen nothing but speculation about that.

The way they describe it and how it appears in the screenshots heavily implies that you have to possess the item so you can drop it into the UI slots. It’s possible that instead you click on the slot and then pick from a big list of all the items you’ve ever worn or something like that, but that seem far less likely to me.

A LF raid tool is the only real counter to the achievement/gear score mountain (which was present in Wrath too, btw, in fact I remember as worse than it is now). They’ll have a base ilevel requirement just like the dungeons do, but otherwise I’d imagine it’ll be open to all.

It pretty much does, though, because it talks about placing an item in the Transmog. interface to see what it would look like on your character. Plus, why else would they mention a new form of storage and talk about holding on to old items in the same article? It very well might not work this way, but I can’t imagine they’d just let everyone use any item in the entire game. Also, a recent Blue post in response to someone talking about not being able to reaquire gear from quests and such:

“We would like to offer some alternative ways to get favorite items that are no longer available, such as perhaps the dungeon tier sets or the DK start gear. This is something we will expand over time – not every favorite item will be immediately available at launch. But we’ll keep a list of items that get requested by the players and work to get them in someday.”

I tipp my hat off to Blizzard:

Offering this stuff for either Gold (gold sink), VP points / badges or real money.

All there is is to set a flag to “on” in their database.

Genius!

In normal modes of raids, you’re only saved to the raid if you actually kill another boss. So truly bad raids where you can’t even get one boss killed wouldn’t be a problem.

Ideally, they should set it up so that you can only get any loot (items, Valor/Justice points, or gold) from the first time you kill a normal mode boss in a week. After that, you can join other raids and kill that same boss again, but you just aren’t eligible for any of the loot. Heroic modes can be kept as they currently are; it’s not like people will likely be running those multiple times in the same week.

LF Deathwing Run. Will pay…well, however much crap like that goes for.

If I had to guess, I’d say that’s why you’re not allowed to even fight the boss. Being able to farm out the boss to everybody once he’s broken - and every boss is eventually broken - would dramatically increase the amount of his loot that gets out to the market and further reduce the prestige of having that ugly bubbly armor or whatever other stupid thing he belches out when he dies, which I think you’d see a lot of (I won’t call them crazy, because that would be judgmental, but…they are totally crazy) people complain about that fact.

Well yeah, if you don’t get any bosses down, sure. But those are only the extreme cases. Typically even bad pugs will kill at least one boss.

But yeah, making it where you can join a new raid after being locked to it but not getting items or points from the bosses you’ve already defeated would probably be the best way to deal with the whole thing.
