I have some items like Rag’s old hammer that I wouldn’t want to strip of its old enchants, but I figure I’ve probably got enough holiday junk, tabards and random trinkets to fill up four 20-slot bags (probably more than that, really).

I’m just surprised Blizzard’s been so slow to address the storage problem, as this will be the first significant space they’ve opened in over 4 years, since the launch of Burning Cursade.

Honestly, I’m thinking about it. I was already considering jumping back in for a month or two and I think this might push me over the edge.

Guild banks were the real fix for the pack rats among us. All you need is an alt with his own guild and you have more space than anyone could ever need.

I have a friend with 3 guilds … fully tabbed out minus the guild level ones. Full of stuff.

She and I have had random name that random mat games for years now. Before she could do this she had at least half her primary account dedicated to moving things from mailbox to mailbox to keep stuff.

The problem with the move to an alt/gbank is that most the stuff you want to keep is soulbound. Even worse is the stuff with enchants. (Sorry not putting my heirloom spell powered 30+ weapons in a void bank that takes me 1000 gold per transaction)

I really don’t see me using the void bank, maybe for some holiday crap but I did a major clean out not too long ago.

I don’t think the average person has 3 guild banks worth of stuff. What could you possibly need all that space for? All I ever keep are a few holiday items and some unique trinkets - everything else gets recycled through the AH in time.

I would guess that 1/5th of my guild have their own alt-guildbanks. My own bank character has 4 slots + 4 other mules with various stuff in their banks + access to this guildbank.

I have a fully tabbed out guildbank for my alts. It still didn’t help me with the soulbound stuff. As an old time raider, we just didn’t have the luxury of keeping everything.

I’m kind of bummed they waited so long. I ended up deleting tons of stuff I would have liked to transmorgrify. I’ll probably pop back in to check it out. Might not have before this.

Almost none of my guildmates have alt guildbank tabs. YMMV. :)

Most of mine do.

Only a few of mine do. This is interesting.

For those who rarely see alt guildbanks, are your guildmates rich? All of mine seemed to have 100k+ gold when I quit the game, and that’s on top of owning various shinies (bikes, complete pet menageries, etc)

Hoarding On-Line a new show coming to the Discovery Channel.

Almost everything I want to save is soulbound, and I’m not going to deguild my 85s to create a separate personal guildbank to store stuff. The personal guildbank doesn’t help a lot of players.

I can name almost every set. This is why I shouldn’t play WoW anymore.

Wow horders has already been done…

Also , it is mostly crafting mats. (I thought I put that in there). The need for that much space has gone down as quest and crafting mats have disappeared or been made soulbound.

I’ve got in the region of 100k gold, and while admittedly I switched main from Hunter to Priest for Cata (Focus, bleck), I’ve not been short of bank space since BC. And I still have 20-space bags in the bank slots.

I have some stuff on alts, but no gbank…

Interesting. Do you raid? If so, are you an officer type?

Yea, raider for Unique, EU-Alonsus. I’m not an officer though. Senior raider, more or less.

The market for horde on our server is pretty crap, sadly. Very alliance-dominated server.

Transmogrification has certainly excited some people. There’s a lot of old raids going ahead right now on my server, both in my guild and server pugs. I don’t much care about sets but I’m going to try to finally get my Sunwell and AQ 40 achievements.

Cheers. Guess I can safely call my lot a bunch of crap-hoarding weirdos!
