Last patch was the Firelands daily soul crusher zone.
I seriously hope they never do that ever again.

Yeah I wasn’t able to bring myself to do the dailies, but still raided Firelands.

Well that was quick. I logged in to see the new (ugly) mount for annual pass people, saw my addons were screwed up, logged out to fix, and now can’t log in again. Oh well, it’ll still be there later.

Fishing addons will cause your game not to load. So click them off.
I have a weird problem with a level 3 mage I tried to delete. I get this message: “This character has mail or has an heirloom item in their inventory or void storage and cannot be deleted.”
For safe measure I:
- sold or destroyed the few meager items in the character’s bags (even the hearth stone)
- sold off her gear
- read the two mail messages (WoW 7th anniversary, penguin pet) and deleted them
I don’t have any heirloom items/void storage and the character isn’t in a guild. I still get the message when trying to delete. Is this a 4.3 bug? It’s a tad annoying because I’d like to free up the slot for another lowbie I’ll never level past 10!
EDIT: Same error message is coming up on another low level character. Weird, I sez!
EDIT, the Sequel: I was able to delete the character after some unspecified thing changed somewhere or other. In any case, yay!
An all new Darkmoon Faire, void storage and transmogrification.
The new Darkmoon Faire is intriguing, void storage and transmogrification are nice but neither is what I’d consider content. But I do appreciate the answer, considering I was being sarcastic! WoW’s patch content (I define content broadly as stuff you do, like quests, raids, etc. and not game systems) is almost exclusively aimed at dungeons and raids, not at solo player questing. I’ve always been a bit disappointed by that.
No biggie, either way. It just means my personal preferences don’t quite align with the folks at Blizzard.
I’ve always seen the LFG tool as directed at the solo player. You don’t need a guild or a group of friends, just a queue with random people who often don’t say a word for the entire run. They might as well be AI bots. The same is true of the LFR tool, assuming it works out.

I don’t know how much experience you’ve had with LFD lately, but these days it’s not a lot like what you just described. Due to a number of tweaks Blizzard has added to the way players build up valor points, random LFD players now tend to be undergeared and inexperienced and, certainly not infrequently, make you wonder if they’re not just flat out stoned. I would gladly pay good gold for AI bots that could help me get my VP and not give the impression they just bought that character 20 minutes ago.
So to me, LFD is not solo content. It may be useful to the solo player who’s not in a guild or is on a different schedule from his friends, but solo content is something the player has full control over, and LFD is most certainly not that. You run LFD these days, you sit in a queue for a half hour and wait and see what kind of hilarity ensues. And when you expand that to 25 people in LFR, it’s hard to see that being much better.
From what I’ve seen so far, this patch has even less solo content than the Firelands patch. I haven’t seen any quest chains to kick things off, there are no new dailies, it’s basically just the new raid and dungeons and other stuff like transmogging and void storage. What I’ve seen of the patch today basically makes me wonder if I’ll have much interest in playing until Mists of Pandaria comes out.
So anyone know anything about the new rogue legendary weapons? I understand that the quest chain kicks off with a raid quest, but are all the quests raid-related? I guess with the new raid finder I might actually have a shot at doing this even though I don’t raid normally.

If it’s like the caster legendary from Firelands, there will be several events that need to be done in the raids, some grindy collecting stuff to be done in raids, and then some other quests and events to be done on your own.
I don’t know if the events and items (if there are any) will be doable via LFR, but even if so, it seems unlikely that pugs will want to do them, unless there’s sweet loot available to everyone. It seems more probable that most pugs will want to just kill their bosses and ignore any special rogue stuff.
I would bet that if the legendary requires things to be collected in raids you will not be able to get them in raid finder raids. Raid finder is the “I just want to see the content/gear up for normal mode” raid.

If you were using fishing buddy, curse had an update available this morning and it works now.

Pretty much every rogue that raids should be able to get the first stage of the daggers. All it involves is getting to the fourth boss in reg dragon soul ( doesn’t work in LFR afaik ) and pick pocketing the boss. From there you do a fairly involved solo chain using rogue abilities and you get the first level of daggers. To get the higher end daggers you need to farm special drops off bosses.
That’s what it is now. I suspect that if the numbers are like what LFD produces it will become the dominant raid form, and the normal/heroic modes will be less important. It’s only a small minority of players who raided prior to 4.3, after all.
That’s fine, I was mostly talking about now.

Ah so nothing has changed since I left WoW in Cata.
Sad to hear that Blizzard didn’t fix that yet somehow.
Either by further dumping down instances (and bring them to Lich King difficulty) or putting people in groups calculating in feats of stength or other achievements.
I gladly run any Cata instance with people that did Onyxia 40 man version or have the “dousing” feat of MC as those people should remember how 5 mans were done in vanilla and know about crowd control.
