Another issue I have is Mount Hyjal and its phases, I would lake to tame Ban’thalos and Magria however I am in the first phase. I looked at the starter quest and it seems I did it but am having trouble finding out where I am in it, didn’t really do Hyjal as a zone.

Any easy way to find out where to go to continue this?

Two weeks in and you had two pieces of valor gear?..not possible. And how many fresh 90’s can afford a darkmoon trinket? And even with those trinkets the gear you are describing having doesn’t add up to 460 iLevel unless you also bought the two 476 pieces.

So, basically, you’re claiming that people don’t need heroics because they can just buy everything to get into LFR? Yeah, who needs heroics when you can just spend 70k gold on shit and jump in a raid!

Yeah, you can but chances of getting them are far lower than getting gear through a heroic. I killed Sha every week and the only piece I got was the 483 PvP neck, and by the time I got it I had better.

Right, I was just tossing the info out there. Sha is really good to get done every week and worth the use of a gold token, even when getting gear in LFR.

Yeah, there’s no doubt he’s worth killing. It’s too easy to pass up even the chance of loot. I was just saying RNG can be a harsh mistress. :)

And with 5.2 we’ll be seeing two new world bosses and it sounds like the spawn time of galleon will be set more in line with the Sha. So world bosses will be a great way to help gear up.

I read that new world bosses will be tap to faction? It sounds like as long as your faction attacked first, you get in on the kill. Sort of like GW2ish.

Ah. I guess now we are expected to pick up the PVP gear. I remember taking so much crap over having a piece or 2 in my gear in the LK days that it just doesn’t occur to me anymore.

I wouldn’t call it an expectation, but PVP stats no longer use item budget so 483 PVP gear and 483 PVE gear are just the same for PVE. Nobody who knows anything will give you any guff about it.

In order to queue for heroics when I dinged 90, I (as a hunter) donned both of the tanking trinkets from Brewfest and a pair of pvp crafted pants. When I entered the instance, I put my normal crappy stuff back on and went on my way. It took about a month to be LFR-ready.

I was ranting in guildchat last night about how needing Brawler’s Guild invite to do the Shieldwall questline was infuriating and a giant middle finger from Blizzard to its players… when one of my guildies pointed out you didn’t need an invite. Oops.

In my defense, it’s not clear at all. The Brawler’s Guild is exclusive, invite-only content. And the first Shieldwall quest tells you to go there and talk to an NPC. What was I supposed to think?

Anyway, I completed it. I recommend you start when you’re revered so you get double faction and the full questline should take you all the way to exalted.

The Scouring of Dalaran was fantastic. Sad seeing Jaina going full Hulk Smash, though. Possessed by the Sha of Hatred? Didn’t we kill all the Sha?

The rare horde/alliance NPC’s at each base have a chance of dropping Brawler guild invites, maybe that’s where you got confused.

As for Jaina…

[spoiler]As for Jaina, when the horde destroyed Theramore and killed Rhonin she totally cracked. She was on the verge of destroying Orgrimmar but was talked down off the ledge by Thrall and Kalecgos(sp?) (happened in the book Tides of War). She then took over as head of the Kirin Tor and as seen in the early shieldwall quests refused to help Varian and stayed neutral.

It was the 2x betrayal of the sunreavers (one by stealing the focusing iris and two by using Dalaran as a transit point for stealing the Bell) that finally snapped her out of her neutral standing. So I don’t think we’re looking at sha possession, just a woman pushed too far. [/spoiler]

It was soloable at 85, worth a shot right now if you are in the mood. MoP greens should have you kitted out at Dragon Soul raiding levels.

The ground mount from Baron whats-his-face Strat is a ~1% drop rate. Grindy and non-flying.

Regarding soloing in general, a hunter should be able to handle everything up to LK heroics at 85. Use your pet to tank, don’t overpull. Remember you can be invulnerable for a while and that you have a get-out-of-combat-free button.

Regarding raids (accessible solo now) I recall using my DK tank to solo at least 60% of Kara at 80 in partial Icecrown gear. Oddly enough, gold sites often have good soloing guides due to collectibles/mats markets.

Ok thanks for this, I did a dry run on Normal Culling and then did the Heroic first go at level 85, still had 6 mins left when I killed the dragona and got the bronze drake.

I picked mine up from simplygames for £10, key only. Out of stock atm. Had no issues.
