The key to the treasure room scenario was in the chest I got as a reward for finish the dailies on day 1. From what I’ve read, that’s possible once a week. I think the key is also a rare drop from mobs on the island as well, but if you don’t like dailies, you’re not going to grind mobs either.
Profession stuff, I guess you could call it grinding, but if you do that then everything in the game is grinding.
Story-related scenarios, I think these open up as the server progresses through the Isle, so linked to the daily grind yes, but not your grind (unless there’s a rep requirement which is possible).
Pet battles, not grinding. Warlock quest, not grinding. Legendary quest, not grinding.
Farm stuff is related to rep, both in the way you obtain it, and the purpose. But Tillers was ridiculously easy to gain rep for (by far the easiest of the Panda reps), and the work orders are meant to make getting other reps easier.
I don’t mind doing daily quests, but for the love of God, don’t halve rep rewards and double the number of daily quests! This just makes the grind super obvious!
I agree with you there. It was really disappointing when I started working on Golden Lotus after working on Tillers to see they’d basically taken the same amount of rep and spread it out among 2-3x the number of quests, most of which take longer than any of the Tiller quests. And then as you level it to different levels, instead of sending you off to new quest hubs for higher rep values, they just stick stuff on the end to extend the amount of time it takes to finish.
That said, I have no idea where 2 hours of daily quests come from. I can finish Isle of Thunder (10-11 quests) in about 20-25 minutes now that I’m familiar (and generally do it during low competition for mob times). Dominance Offensive (the other rep I’m working on) is 10-15 minutes tops. On the days I don’t have time for much, that’s all I do, and that’s fine with me. Just because Blizz gives me 4 or 5 reps I can work on now, doesn’t mean I’m going to work on them all at once. As a casual player, that’s the choices you have to make.
